Bajnai honors policemen for handling of “illegal” right-wing protests

Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai on Friday honoured eight policemen for controlling the situation at a July 4 demonstration in support of the banned radical nationalist Hungarian Guard, the government spokesman’s office told MTI in a statement.

The prime minister decided to reward the officers “in recognition of their handling of the illegal demonstration, professional acting with the sometimes violent crowd and maintaining public order,” the statement said.

The government wants to ensure that “no law-abiding citizen has any cause to be afraid, neither because of their origin nor because of the intimidating behaviour of certain groups,” Bajnai said at the award-giving ceremony.

About 200 uniformed members of the Guard, set up by the radical nationalist Jobbik party, gathered in central Budapest last Saturday to demonstrate against a court ruling banning the organisation. The protesters sat down on the ground refusing police calls to vacate the square, then clashed with the officers.

On that brutful day, just many days ago sat a group Hungarian citizens beaten to a pulp.
The long smirk on Bajnais face spread as he saw his police beating his own race.
Polcie pounded away with sticks and spray beating and screaming the Communist
    way.
The citizens of Hungary were horrified as they saw civil rights Hungarian Guard being beaten like a dog.
Bajnai laughed as the Hunagrian police of an entire nation was in the square, while Gypsy criminal racist roamed the towns abound no police, no guard, no one to protect the Hungarian citizens as both were in the square fighting their own.

Sorry, but why is this such surprising news?
This is the problem with the deliberate censorship of the Jobbik movement’s message… Because they predicited this very thing happening over a week ago in a jobbik.com article.
    I quote from
    http://www.jobbik.com/?p=618
“Officers are now so certain of career advancement if they fulfil this overtly political role”
    Quelle surprise!

  4. Freedom says:

@hazafi my heart goes out to all the Hungarians, Garda and any supporters who have said enough is enough, from the actions of the commies we are continuously increasing our support it’s obvious we are awakening the people in Hungary, and all the commies do is try to character assassinate us, don’t give up folks we have the power of love on our side, and no power elite can control it by any means, that’s a true fact. In order to suppress the people, they must take away that key of knowledge, and Jobbik is teaching the people to awaken and see that the emperor has nothing on.

  5. Kovács says:

Bajnai is the head of the most corrupt bunch of villains ever to parade under the banner of democratic government. Reward police? “Bribe” more likely.
It is not just right-wing groups that know the game is up for the MSZP. The majority of Hungarians know the situation is dire. Hungarians are desperate and depressed at the never-ending surge into the economic abyss.
A handful of people with a lot of money in foreign banks that has been “laundered” through off-shore companies, sit pretty, whilst Magyarorsag fries!
The situation is farcical and people feel helpless to do anything about it. A small bunch of nationalists are beaten and ridiculed for protesting…Bajnai and his cronies are the enemy of the state and deserve more than a beating…???

I have been reading this website for a while now, and if I may add my opinion, I would say that the majority of Hungarians citizens are more intelligent than what some posts intend to make us believe.
