Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai plans to carry out a major cabinet reshuffle in the autumn as the Socialist Party's popularity has not improved, despite the replacement of former premier Ferenc Gyurcsány, sources close to the cabinet told Magyar Nemzet on Monday.
Those expected to quit include Justice Minister Tibor Draskovics and PMO leader Csaba Molnár, while former PMO leader Péter Kiss could return. Molnár will be replaced by Kiss and Draskovics by state secretary Gábor Juhász, the daily adds.
Kiss's return could strengthen the left-wing nature of the cabinet and win back some party supporters before the parliamentary elections next spring.
Secret Services Minister Ádám Ficsor has already announced his departure next month, and his post is expected to be taken by state secretary Imre Iváncsik.
It is unlikely that a new secret services minister will be appointed; the portfolio will instead be transferred to the Prime Minister's Office, Népszabadság reports.
Rash prediction: the party's popularity will not improve, no matter WHO the hell is in or out of the cabinet.
Their only hope is to promise huge tax cuts for everyone after the next election and hope that enough floating voters believe them.
Oh no wait, Fidesz are already doing that...
So we will back at the 2006 General Election's Bidding War, who can offer more money in the pocket.
1998 Fidesz won, 2002 and 2006 MSZP.
MSZP will distance themselves from the Gyurcsany legacy and the close co-operation from SZDSZ (who will probably not make it in the next Parliament anyway, so not important). Now it will be the 'New and Left MSZP'.
Probably the election will be defined by Fidesz possible fuck-up around Jobbik, like in 2002 about MIEP, leaving their left-flank to MSZP to pick up now when SZDS committed suicide.
That Orban Viktor is not going to be the next PM, would though be a rather big surprise. But it is not a done deal yet, but a rather likely.

The actual number of actual voters 2010 for Jobbik and 1998 for MIEP, will probably not differ so much. But Jobbik is definitely more media-smart though, so they look 10 times bigger.
Just look at the demonstrations Jobbik arranges on its own. Very few active who bothers to go out. They always need someone else to attach to, which they will probably do to embarrass Fidesz nationally during the election campaign.
Locally they will work together like hand in glove.
More often than not the truth about Hungary’s current predicament is hidden under a smoke screen of erroneous and contemptuous debate by ex pats , anoraks, and zit poppers.
These pages are riddled with childish name-calling, cant, and hypocrisy.
Educated (supposedly) men using the language of the gutter to criticize each other.
Is it any wonder that many are deterred from posting their comments?
Criticism is one thing. Solutions? A different ball game all together!
The meandering invective is the regime because most of the posters are not involved with the day
to day life here.
Hungary and Hungarians have got to find answers to the problems. And pretty damn quick.
The various self-appointed, know-alls, that go running to America, the European Union, and Amnesty International etc., to resolve “perceived”
injustices are only self-indulgent publicists that wish to further their own careers.
Hungary suffers because there is a glut of this breed about at the moment.
Even Erik’s “fictitious” Hindu has jumped
on the bandwagon.
