Horváth and Hagyó reinstated as BKV dispute continues

The coalition dispute over the Budapest public transport company BKV ended on Saturday, when the Budapest chapters of the Socialist Party and the Free Democrats agreed to decline the resignation offers of deputy mayors Csaba Horváth and Miklós Hagyó.

Horváth will again take charge of BKV and initiate talks on resolving the company’s woes with Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai today. He told MTI on Sunday that he is aiming to bring order at BKV within three months.

Free Democrat deputy mayor Imre Ikvai-Szabó will oversee BKV’s budget matters.

Great! Ikvai/szdsz will still be in charge of finances. I held my breath for a moment but the decision came as an enormous relief. Phooo!
    Good. It means we’re safe.
