Hungary’s main opposition Fidesz party retained its big lead over the minority governing Socialist party in September, pollster Median said on Wednesday.
Among decided voters, Fidesz kept its backing at 67 percent while the Socialist Party’s support level increased from 16 to 18 percent, according to the poll appearing at www.hvg.hu.
Among all voters, Fidesz had the support of 46 percent while the Socialist party had 14 percent.
Support for the radical nationalist Jobbik party in the decided camp declined from 11 to 10 percent.
None of the other parties polled enough support to cross the 5 percent threshold for a parliamentary mandate.
The proportion of those supporting Gordon Bajnai’s semi-technocratic crisis-management government has grown from 24 to 29 percent since August while 58 percent continued to prefer early elections.
Eighteen percent of respondent praised the government’s performance. The ratio of those dissatisfied has decreased from 38 to 32 percent. This is the best marking a Hungarian government in office has got over the past two years.
President Laszlo Solyom and opposition Fidesz party leader Viktor Orban tied for first place on the popularity list of Hungarian politicians.
The poll was conducted on a representative sample of 1200 between September 4 and 8.

So no suprises I see!
@János Szimpfiája: I take it you don’t/would object to Publicus and their polling (I know you have in the past when it hasn’T gone your way)? 29% wanting Jobbik in parliament, 50+% expecting them to be: http://www.publicus.hu/blog/szelsoseges_konzervativ_jobbik
