Christian Democrats to cooperate with Roma group in preparing election program

Conservative opposition party Christian Democrats (KDNP) will cooperate with the Roma College in preparing the party’s election programme, a party spokeswoman said on Friday.

Zsuzsa Halasz welcomed Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai’s recent announcement on plans to employ 200 new Roma graduates in public administration, though she criticised them for lacking details and accused the government of drawing up the policy for political gain.

Istvan Kamaras, Head of the Roma College within Saint Stephen university, blamed the Socialist government for the current high level of anti-Roma sentiment in Hungary, saying that uniformed radical groups had established themselves under the current government’s watch and innocent Roma and been killed.
