Orbán says Fidesz would quickly move to make sweeping changes

“Fidesz will not require a 100-day grace period if it wins the next parliamentary elections; and will start work at once,” chairman Viktor Orbán told the tabloid Blikk on Saturday.

He said “one million new jobs, 3,000 more police officers and a transformation of the tax regime are needed. The next cabinet will have one night to celebrate victory and have to start work the next morning,” Orbán added.

“Those who committed abuses of office will be named and be punished. Top leaders implicated also await an inquiry. We cannot carry unfinished business,” he underlined.

Orbán favours building several new bridges, reconstructing the derelict bridges over the river Ipoly, and a new pedestrian bridge.

“Fidesz should support, or at least not smear, the work of the crisis-management cabinet,” Socialist Party spokesman István Nyakó said in response.

“…will start work at once” So they have all the necessary plans and details in place, despite earlier claims that they couldn’t outline specific policies due to lack of available data. So when are they going to tell everyone the details.
Bridge building sounds great, very symbolic. Orbán loves to build things he can put his name to and deface the cityscape while he’s at it. Any chance of a reduction in the size of government, especially local government?

Orbán keeps banging on about creating one million new jobs, but has he provided any details about how he intends to achieve this. The only specific Fidesz policy I can recall is that they are going to embrace socialism by nationalising industry.
