President László Sólyom is currently down under on a visit to New Zealand and Australia, who despite not being members of the Schengen Zone and therefore not required by law to allow the Hungarian president freedom of movement across the border, welcomed a visit by the Hungarian head of state, unlike our neighbor to the north. According to tabloid Blikk, Sólyom displayed his willingness to observe local Maori custom in New Zealand by rubbing noses with locals, before flying over to Australia where he sampled some of the local grass varieties, Blikk added in different piece. There was no mention if the president would be bringing any of that grass back with him, or if he did, how he would go about declaring it if stopped by customs agents.
