Work of aged peasants to be trod on by gluttonous politicians

parliament-carpet.jpgA gigantic new carpet for a hall in Hungary’s parliament building is being made in Békésszentandrás on Europe’s largest loom by old ladies who will probably not see much of the Ft 47 million (€175,000) it is expected to cost when completed. According to RTL Klub, the 37 meter-long, 300 kilo carpet is a replica of the one currently in the stately Vadászterem (“Hunter’s Hall”), and contains a (probably literally) blinding 100,000 knots per square meter. The hall is used by visiting heads of state and government, and otherwise by lunching parliamentarians.

The women are probably all paid a pittance under the
government’s “work for dole” scheme, at least Ft 20 million has
already disappeared in “consulting fees” to shell companies run by
state/government thieves, and it will be thrown out and burnt in 2
or three years and replaced with an identical carpet costing three
    times as much. Next.
