Former Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany addressed a session of his minority governing Socialist Party on Friday, on the occasion of the party's 20th anniversary.
Gyurcsany, who made his first public appearance since he resigned in March, called on the Socialists to stand up to "the dreadful speak and intimidation" in the country, to take a firm position against racist or discriminatory manifestations and to honour the party's achievements in the past.
"The Socialist Party is the last fortress of democracy in Hungary," said Gyurcsany. We must wake up and protect freedom against "the aggressive and rapacious power that is banging on our doors," he said.
Gyurcsany voiced criticism over President Laszlo Solyom, who "kept silent when fascist boots were marching along Budapest streets."
Gyurcsany said there was only one political community and that belonged to the Hungarian nation. "Anyone who does not protect this but tries to break it apart commits a sin," he said.
There is no room for disputes in the Socialist party now, we must support the government and the party presidium, Gyurcsany said.
Gyurcsany, who resigned when his popularity hit the rocks in March, was replaced by Gordon Bajnai in mid-April and he has not made a public appearance since then.
Senior official of the main opposition Fidesz party Tibor Navracsics responded on Friday to Gyurcsany's expected appearance by suggesting that Gyurcsany continued to steer the party from behind the scene.
The Socialists are currently predicted to lose next year's general elections to the rival oppositon Fidesz party, which is leading 39 to 10 percent over the Socialists in polls.

Ahat a clown!!!
.
MSZP is the party of murderers, thieves and liars
Murderers??? Ah go on get back on earth, man!
Gyurcsany has the nerve to throw in the word "sin" after all that he has done? This man has absolutely no shame.
@Rózsa
MSZP is MSZMP under a slightly changed name. It is a collection of Communist murderers, their children and grandchildren.
Dobrev, Gyurcsany’s wife is not the exception but the rule in MSZP. The granddaughter of mass murderer Apro Antal using the wealth they obtained by murdering Hungarians.
Politicos like Feri G. must learn meny things from the peoples on the street, working people.
"Freedom" is a grand word, but under the banner of freedom for industry the most predatory wars were waged, under the banner of freedom of labor, the working people were robbed. The modern use of the term "freedom of criticism" contains the same inherent falsehood. Those who are really convinced that they have made progress in science would not demand freedom for the new views to continue side by side with the old, but the substitution of the new views for the old. The cry heard today, "Long live freedom of criticism", is too strongly reminiscent of the fable of the empty barrel.
And these commies have a lot to understand from the people and to learn abot peoples freedom.
"There is no room for disputes in the Socialist party now, we must support the government and the party presidium", Khrush, er... Cast, er... Mao, er... Gyurcsány said.

Bad statement according to basically everyone before this post.
So would this one be better:

"There is no room for disputes in Jobbik now, we must support Vona and Morvai, Ricsi said"

To unite the troops before the battle is a 'human' thing. Has been happening for thousands of years.
Gyurcsany and his ilk will get their answer when the Hungarian people go to the polls. In all likelihood, the Communist MSZP and SZDSZ will get less than 10%.
We find out how serious Fidesz is about holding to account all those criminals currently in power who ruined Hungary.
Bajnai, Gyurcsany and scores of others should have to answer for their crimes against the Hungarian people.
It is not possible, for the next elections, that politicians, I mean the patriotic ones, not to understand that action and presence is needed! We, Hungarians, need them! Enough with all this stupidities about so called ‘pluralism’, ‘Europe union’, and so on.
A real revolution, a new pure Hungarian revolution is needed, and only a party that organize really nation-wide actions can become the leaderof the needed revolution! And to be nation-wide is important!.The overwhelming majority of the today Hungarian administration is made of businesmen. They know well how dangerous it is to "complain" even against a minor official, let alone against the "omnipotent" government.
But the next people in power will have to undertake the organization of really nation-wide presence of the government! Enough with all these stupidities about ‘liberal democracy’! We ,the lucid Magyar united forces have to be united, to be organised!!!! All the questions raised by their permanent presence will be elucidated in a perfect patriotic spirit, without any concessions to deliberate or non-deliberate distortions of real national, Magyar spirit. This all-round political activity will be conducted by a party which unites into one inseparable whole the assault on the government in the name of the whole people, the revolutionary training of this country’s people, while safeguarding its political independence, and guidance of the economic struggle of the real workers!
Tom, you simply make no sense at all.
@Rózsa
What is it that you do not agree about my post?
Do you think that criminals should not have to answer for their crimes?
Who needs robi, when we have tom and revolt...
@wolfi
Are you one of those criminals who find the concept of criminals having to answer for their crimes frightening?
No Vandorlo, no Rabi >> Vandorlo/Rabi. We got jewed for a while…
Do you still show Rabi’s posts to your “Hungarian friends” as an example of Hungarian posts now that you know that it was a Jew scam to make Hungarians look bad?
Of course, you do. A lie would never stop the likes of you :-(
These are not my words but this is how most Hungarians feel:
Bajnai, Gyurcsany and scores of others should have to answer for their crimes against the Hungarian people.

No problem at all.
I am for to punish criminals.
So, to make it totally clear:
- Exactly what are they guilty of, I mean the legal charge, which laws have been broken (must be a lot, right?)
Also it is a bit unsatisfactory to have this "scores of others"-part, sound a bit like when the Police are searching for an "Unknown Perpetrator", but are these persons really unknown?
Sounds a bit scary if you guys do not know who these criminals are?
Could you please clarify the different legal charges and for whom they apply?
Names are sufficient, do not need any photos.
