Owner of Kuruc.info revealed to be owner of gay nightclub in Tel Aviv

hotel-president-reakcio.jpg

Just kidding, but don’t tell anyone at Hungary’s leading far-right portal, because they might end up thinking it’s true and printing it on page one! Here’s why: According to the folks at the Reakció Blog, they recently submitted a “story” about the new Hotel President in District V and wrote that it featured lots of Jewish symbols (including the Star of David) on the building’s façade (the image above is a screen grab from kuruc.info), adding claims that both the Socialists and “Zsidesz” (Fidesz) gave their eager approval for the project. The piece continued that the building is conveniently located near the Hungarian National Bank and the embassy of the “Jewish States of America,” and offered other chestnuts so over-the-top the authors of the bogus article assumed that someone at Kuruc would catch on. Sort of makes you wonder if other things on the site aren’t 100% true either…

Wow free publicity for Kuruc.info, gee they must be so grateful for your asiitance in translating how Budapest is turning into little Israel, so that means all those mudering Israel fascists are investing and moving to Hungary.

  2. Lawbreaker says:

What makes you think there is any substantial influx of Jews to Hungary? They as well as any foreign investors are avoiding that hellhole like the plague, mostly due to jackasses like yourself.
Oops I let myself get suckered into commenting again to irrelevant Neo-Nazis!
Law, we foreigners are enjoying watching you and your Jobbik ‘brothers’ destroy what tiny hope was left for your country!
Will the last sane Hungarian to leave the country please remember to bring the flag with you?
Your country will not prosper as long as ugly racists like you are involved in politics and we foreigners will continue to laugh at your likes as Hungary sinks lower and lower.
Enjoy poverty my friend or better start thinking about becoming what you hate most: an immigrant to some other (more prosperous) country.
No one deserves it more than you and your Neo-Nazi friends!

  3. Tom says:

I find that people who call others Nazis are usually Communists or Zionazis.
There are no Nazis in Hungary. If you want to see Nazis, real bad, mass murderer, racist, thieving Nazis, you should look at Nazi Israel.
Hungarians want a country of their own, free of outside colonizers who are making the lives of ordinary Hungarians more and more miserable.
Anyone who faults the Hungarians for wanting to have their own country is a Zionazi and/or Communist.
    Zionazis and Communist go home!

  4. Lawbreaker says:

    No, Ricsi (I mean “Tom”),
NAZIS are people who idolize Adolf Hitler and who think that he was correct, only “misunderstood” as you well know.
We know that you idolize Hitler from your rantings at http://www.vivamalta.org, so don’t pretend that you are anything else.
You love Hitler, you have wet dreams about him, everything else you say or do is just a diversion. Sadly for you, the memory is still fresh in the minds of most people in the rest of Europe as to the utter HORRORS that bastard unleashed on all the innocent people of Europe and beyond.
Only YOU and the likes of you are too young and un/mis-educated enough to think that Hitler’s legacy was in any way glorious or a “good thing.” That’s what makes you an IDIOT.
Go see Tarantino’s new movie and see what the entire world would love to do to people with dreams like yours… The movie would not be popular if it didn’t tap into the world’s desire to watch Nazis die. Ha! How you like them apples, racist bastard?

  5. Law says:

You pack of Zion pussies, the revolution of truth is on our side this time and if you think that stupid tarintino movie is popular in Hungary you definitely are taking magic mushrooms. This illusion is only appearing in the countries where they have been socially conditioned by Hollywood and Media, again a fine example of how brainwashed people are.
Hungarians are not Fascists, Jobbik are only exposing the lies which have shadowed Hungary and Europe for too long and now the foundations of these are crumbling.
I see what tactic you pricks are using, the old tell a lie enough times it begins to replace the truth, but not forever, the truth is out there and built on solid bedrock.

  6. C'est moi says:

If you use the words enough people may start to follow your mantra – Truth(3x), brainwashed, lies (2x), illusion – but only the simpleminded and psychotic.

  7. Law says:

    @C’est moi
Thanks for the tip, you dipstick.

  8. Lawbreaker says:

What makes you think I am a “zionist”? Everybody who thinks you are a racist must be one? I am not even Jewish much less a “zionist” whatever that MEANS to skinhead-types like you…
Then again you people are driven by fear and conspiracy-theorizing so it probably makes you feel more important to imagine you are pursued by some “Powerful Zion People” rather than simply educated people who are extremely tired of your racist postings (under any/all the names you use). Ask your parents, youngster how much they “enjoyed” Hitler’s reign in Europe!
It is we the sensible ones who hate you. Something tells me Jewish people probably don’t READ Politics.hu, you arrogant little bitch!

  9. olga says:

    @ Lawbreaker
Your posting makes me very sad because I don’t like reading the truth that I already suspected.
If you were Hungarian born like me, you couldn’t laugh. I am still hoping they are a vocal lunatic fringe minority – much like “The Birthers” in the USA. Because I am not American, I can actually see the humour
I know this is not what the people who suffered and gave up their lives for in ’56 They wanted
what “the West” had. Where people were protected by legitimate laws and could not be accused of insane allegations without a scintilla of evidence. That was Stalin’s MO according to my history books.
In fact, the only people (except for Farkas Laszlo ) who actually care about a Democratic Hungary are foreigners living in Hungary – Vandorlo, Viking, Wolfi and a few others whose actual residence I am unsure about.
You are telling the truth and the truth hurts.

  10. olga says:

    @ Law
Please allow me to be the 2nd dipstick right after C’est Moi who had to translate for you.
When Lawbreaker called your attention to the Tarantino movie, your response was: “you think that stupid tarintino movie is popular in Hungary you definitely are taking magic mushrooms. ”
Go back to his first posting at 8.28
If you comprehend what he wrote, you will understand he would not include Hungary the movie’s fan base.

  11. Tom says:

    @olga
“You are telling the truth and the truth hurts.”
How could an insane, delusional Zionazi, posting under numerous names be telling the truth? He is not telling the truth but terrified of it. How else would he be sliming everyone who speaks the truth?
The poor miserable creature even posted some slime using my name. If that is not insane, nothing is.

  12. Tom says:

I find it ironic that so many Jews would accept Hitler and his ideas and practice then on the Palestinians.
Nazi Germany lost the war and the world thought that would be the end of Nazis but no, Nazi Israel and Nazi Israel’s supporters are every bit as Nazi as Nazi Germany was.
    Nazi as a Nazi does…
Useful mix of the words ‘Zionist’ and ‘nazi’ to compare the fascist mentality, which has been passed down through the years by abuse of certain religions. The new religion in itself (Zionism) is practiced by mostly Jews but also Christians in the United States as of indoctrination from the old testament, as opposed to Europe’s great distancing between the two major religions. The current zionazi ideology has grown as a result of the nazi atrocities committed during the early part of the 20th century, and seems to have adopted many of its fascist ideas of ethnic cleansing, especially in Israel. In this holocaust memorial state and its surrounding areas (occupied Palestinian territories) you will find evidence of racism being practiced against the Arabic speaking populations – even those who were born citizens of the state of Israel are regarded as 2nd class citizens. Segregation is the plan as is shown by the ‘separation barrier’ (more of a segregation wall) designed to ‘keep out suicide bombers’ or more likely to keep Muslims and Jews separated through apartheid of the former Palestinians by stealing their Arab lands!
Zionist – “We are god’s chosen people; Israel belongs t

  13. wolfi says:

    This gets funnier and funnier…
The gus like Expathun, tom and bob…, who spew their nonsense under many different names, accuse the group of people who try reasoning with them, like vikikg, olga, me and a few others to be just one person, who of course must be a “Zionazi”…
At least it is easy to exclude their crazy extremist right wing racist Jobbik ravings from your reading:
You just have to look for words like:
Zionazi, gypsy crime, liberal communists (what an oxymoron!), Israel fascists, and so on…

  14. Tom says:

    @wolfi
What you are forgetting German boy that this entire Nazi and Zionazi thing is your doing, you Germans and Jews. Hungarians never had any use for Nazis or Communist but you forced yourselves on the Hungarians.
Horthy tried to stop your father, Hitler from removing the Jews from Hungary and countless Hungarian families helped Jews hide from you Germans looking from them. It is because of Hungarians that most of Hungary’s Jews survived your Hitler’s little plan.
I tell you how these grateful Jews of Hungary showed their gratitude to the Hungarians who saved them. They gave Hungary the Jewish Rákosi Communist terror and the Jewish Rákosi AVO. The horrors these Jews inflicted on the Hungarians surpassed anything your father Hitler inflicted on the Jews.
Do not think for a moment, you repentant little German Nazi, that Hungarians hold your ilk in any higher esteem than the equally brutal and murderous Jewish Communists of Rákosi era and the Jewish Zionazis of today. You are all the same.

  15. wolfi says:

    @tom:
You react exactly as I predicted, falsifying history, calling me a Nazi, and so on…
Like I wrote, you are too stupid to change your ways – and everybody who starts to read your nonsense will stop immediately after the first words…
    Business as usual…

  16. Tom says:

    @wolfi
Hungarians did not give us the Nazis, Germans did
Hungarians did not give us the Communists, Jews did
You are the one who endorsed Ilya Ehrenburg’s anti-German hate and call to murder all Germans because they are all Nazis, including the German babies. This is your position, not mine so be proud that I acknowledge you as a repentant Nazi.
    Some people are never happy

  17. wolfi says:

    @tom:
    I did “endorse” Ehrenburg’s statement ? – I said that I understood it…
So at the same time I am a communist and a Nazi – well you are even crazier than I thought, at least I’m glad you are no Hungarian, just like most of the rightwing hatemongers here, crawl back into the dark hole to your BNP buddies…

  18. Tom says:

    @wolfi
I did not call you a Communist unless you feel that my statement “Hungarians did not give us the Communists, Jews did”. In that case, you would not be a German but a Jew parading as a German. Did I get it right?
I did not declare myself a Hungarian but I would be proud to belong to such freedom loving proud people. I also believe and wholeheartedly endorse that Hungary for Hungarians. Until the Hungarians, no one in the cowardly West had the courage to rise against the mighty Soviet Empire. That makes everyone who values freedom and courage want to be Hungarian.
I have no use for Communists, Nazis or Zionazis. They are all the same terrorist bunch to me. At the risk of repeating myself, I do not believe that Hungarians are either Communists or Nazis. Communist Jews pretending to be Hungarians are still with us but they morphed into Zionazis. Lendvai is a good example but there are many-many more like her. Nazi Germany is a thing of the past.

    Tom at November 4, 2009 10:41 AM

So it is finally out of the box:
‘Tom’ is just one of the Illinois Nazis who spilled over from StormFront.
May I recommend the Blues Brother film?
Maybe ‘Tom’ can watch it with Bob, he also need an update on that film obviously (another thread)

  20. Tom says:

Zionazis, posting slime using numerous names do not understand that not declaring Hungarian to Zionazis simply means that Hungarian hating Zionazis do not deserve to know one way or other.
Zionazis should mind their own business; get out of Hungary, stop murdering Palestinian children, and stop stealing Hungarian and Palestinian lands.

  21. Erik says:

@Viking: And it gets stranger, because old Tom is chiming in from an IP address in *Texas*. Weird, you’d think that with a bolshevik negro only recently installed in the White House non-Magyars in Texas would have more to worry about than the dying gasps of a former commie-liberal government 7,000 miles away. Oh the joys of the internet!

  22. wolfi says:

    @Eric:
Glad to hear from You this intersting “factoid” about our favorite troll “tom”.
Have you thought about any changes here making it less easy for people to use a myriad of aliases ?
Anyway, I love this forum, even as it is. Now with winter coming in, relaxing by my kandalo with my beautiful Hungarian wife, a glass or two of nice Hungarian wine and my computer as a kind of window into the strange minds of some “would be Hungarians”…

  23. Erik says:

@wolfi: Yeah, we have the rough outlines of an upgrade in place. But a) it involves nasty tradeoffs, and b) we are being held back by a lack of coding/programmig talent (know anyone with a deft hand at php or any other kind of programming?). Either way, if you haven’t done so, register as an all hungary member and reserve the screenname of your choice now.

I have two problems with your post:
    (1) Providing poster information to someone with a sick and insane interest in the identity of those who do not approve of Zionazis is unethical at least.
    (2) Calling President Obama a “bolshevik negro” is not only a lie but a very ugly and racist remark. The irony is that while President Obama is not a Bolshevik or a Negro, Lendvai is a Bolshevik Jew.
You should be ashamed of yourself on both accounts.

  25. Law says:

    Hi Tom
Erik and this website is a Neo Liberal site, we unfortunately are being watched by this creepy group of Hungarian traitors, who are ignorant and have only materialistic values and no ethics, as you stipulated.
These guys are evil and I’m so surprised that some people who claim to be patriots on this website have actually addressed this Erik guy with respect, so be cautious, this site is on his terms currently, things will change in the future don’t worry, I assure you this, majority here have lost trust and faith in the system, Szebb jövőt!

  26. wolfi says:

    @tom:
That you right wingers don’t understand irony is a known fact – the crazy thing about this is that one of your buddies really called Obama a communist on this site some time ago…
And if you don’t like the way Eric handles his site – why don’t you stay away from it and use kuruc or Hungarian ambience or other shit…

  27. wolfi says:

    @Erik:
Sorry for misspelling your name but I have a friend in Germany whose name is Erich, maybe that’s why…
You surely remember who it was, that called president Obama a bolshevik not too long ago, at least I think so from your humorous allusion…
Was it ricsi or law or justasking or someone else – please help me, I could not stand reading all those posts again…
PS: Of course I registered some time ago, really find this a great source of information – and fun…

  28. Erik says:

@Tom: Me revealing that you are in Texas is not about having you tracked down (there are 24 million people living there) or even about making you look silly. It’s just interesting background. And I can only assume that your comment about my gag about Obama is also a gag, as you are obviously not against the idea of racism.
@Law: For the milllionth time, just try to get your head around the idea that neither I nor any of the other regular contributors here are “anti-Hungarian” or lefties.

  29. Tom says:

    @Law
This is what I posted here just about a week ago (Tom at October 27, 2009 6:13 PM) in response to Ricsi’s post about “Calls for stripping of MP’s immunity over allegedly anti-Semitic remarks”.
The site seemed normal enough with the usual mix but as the days went by; the Zionazi/Communist scum got slimier and slimier. In my opinion, one of the slimiest things was still Erik exposing my IP location to the Zionazi/Communist scum. No self-respecting list owner would do that unless there was a legal requirement or if he was one of them.
This is not the only Hungarian bashing site but it may be one of the worst. It was a pleasure to get to know people such as you and Ricsi but if we discount you two, there is no one else of any worth on this list.
I am confident that I will find a real Hungarian site where one can discuss real Hungarian issues with real Hungarians, not with Hungarian haters. This was a real education in how Jews operate, not only in America but in Hungary also. Maybe more so.
Have a very nice day my friend and may all your days in Hungary be happy. Hungary is a truly wonderful country of great and courageous people. I have spent much time with Hungarians in America and in Hungary and there is none I admire more.
Remember my friend, the Zionazi scum may post their filth everywhere they get a foothold but there is still only less than 3% of them in Hungary. All it takes is one strong Hungarian government and they can all go to home to Nazi Israel. Most Americans are getting fed up with their constant hate and warmongering also.
    Tom

  30. wolfi says:

    @tom:
    Good riddance!
I hope we can return to normal discussion now among us “Nazi jews” who really love Hungary and (some of)its people – some of us not only are friends with but are even married to Hungarians…

  31. Vándorló says:

@Tom: If it’s any consolation I have your IP, computer and location mapped from the start. I didn’t mention it because shit heads like you come in four forms:
    1. Don’t live here, work here and/or pay taxes here
    2. Are not Hungarian and not even Hungarian citizens
    3. Are either type 1 or 2 above but are also unable to communicate in Hungarian (a basic requirement to get Hungarian citizenship)
    4. Paid or employed by others to do their lobbying, such as BobsWhatever
It’s hardly worth mentioning it when you are type 1. There are so many of you it’s laughable.
If you want to find a home that needs some homesteaders try the hungarianambience.com place. They’ll love you there.
I doubt you’ll not be back, though.

  32. Will G says:

Wasn’t Bob Marley a Zionist? Seriously, he should go back to Isreal. Haile Selassie was also a huge Zionist, right? If you listen to “Iron Lion Zion” backwards it contains the secret decoder material needed to decipher the true meaning of the kaballah, and will allow you and your friends hours of fun at any party. Buy now to own the world like the zionists!
I love the posters on this site. Whenever i’m in a bad mood, i just need to read some of these comments, guaranteed to brighten my day ;) . Just to clarify everything, you’re saying Zionism is now a religion? Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I always thought it was a movement started by Herzl, with a big boost from Dr. Karl in Vienna, but I could be wrong. Then again, if Jews do own the world, doesn’t it behoove us all to suck up to them?

  33. olga says:

    @ Tom
In the last 10 days or so, your posts have escalated from garden variety hate mongering to downright evidence of madness.
Your mistake calling “Mr.Crude Revolting Subhuman” (forgot its name) your friend seemed to put you over the edge. You don’t see yourself exactly like him, other people’s opinions notwithstanding.
You seemed downright scared having your IP address posted, not to mention Erik’s Obama comment went over your head.
You are back peddling about being “Hungarian” despite your “own rules” and claim everyone who loves freedom wants to be Hungarian. I am well aware that every Texan desires just that, but Texans are not everyone. I think if push came to shove, I could find a few people who love freedom and do not desire to be Hungarian. I do admit, it would be a hard task but I am up to the challenge.
My IP address must show I live in Toronto – so far I have not been threatened by Zionists , Romas, Aliens etc.
I think you have a lot more on your plate than “racism” Can’t say I’ll miss you but I honestly hope you get help

  34. Marton says:

    @ Olga,
I couldn’t agree more. Those kind of ideas and prejudices shouldn’t even be dignified with a response or a comment.
However, I must note that I find quite amusing his patronizing speech on who is entitled to be Hungarian (from Texas, by the way).
Greetings and thanks for your previous comment!

  35. From The USA says:

I LOVE THIS WEBSITE and love Erik, Olga, Vanderlo and others more than ever! Freedom of speech triumphs over evil just a little tiny bit every day and it’s fun to watch!

  36. olga says:

@ Marton & From the USA
Thanks – I only wish I had real Hungarian political knowledge like Vandorlo, Viking, Sophist, Wolfi etc so I wouldn’t have to use silly sarcasm in response to hateful drivel.
Farkas Laszlo (my Hungarian idol) is too much of a gentleman to tell these jerks to f.o. which is the “execuitve summary” of the responses from the people named above. Their ideas are my free education.
I don’t need to be Hungarian to recognize hate speech – accusations against minorities with no evidence where the sole purpose is to incite hate.
I could hold my own in Canadian and US politics, but here, I am just learning about my birth place. It’s very slow going and downright depressing.

  37. justasking says:

Sweet Mother of God…are you marinating in your own estrogen or what? ” Hold your own in Canadian politics” when you yourself does not even know that Trudeau was a f^%&^ commie?
And what the Sam Hell has Wolfie added to this site other then stuffing his nose up Vandors ass and going on about his “beautiful Hungarian wife” as if by saying that everybody will ignore the fact that they are being called Nazies by a German!!!

  38. C'est Moi says:

Wolfie – “That you right wingers don’t understand irony is a known fact – the crazy thing about this is that one of your buddies really called Obama a communist on this site some time ago…” I am not looking to get into a pissing contest with you but please don’t paint Tom or others here as just ‘right wingers’. I vote on the right side, as I know many others do here, and to lump us in with the likes of Tom is offensive. Sure people will call Obama a communist, so what? For the last 8 years elements of the left constantly said Bush was a Nazi and would find some trick to stay in office longer than 8 years.

  39. Will G says:

@Justasking….when you use American lingo, it’s always better to check it prior to posting. It’s what in the Sam HILL, not Hell…..Just wanted to point that out. Personally, the only good “ism” is sarcism, er, maybe schism?

  40. justasking says:

You say Sam Hill and I’ll say Sam Hell. Sam Hill sounds stupid anyhow.

  41. C'est Moi says:

Well how about that..wiki says it’s Sam Hill. I always thought it was Sam Hell also and I don’t think I ever heard someone say Sam Hill until today. Now that I do know, I still dont think I am going to change.

  42. justasking says:

There ya go Willie, your on your own!

  43. wolfi says:

    c’est moi:
It is typical fdor the extreme right wingers like Jobbik, BNP, Neonazis in Germany to call anyone whose opinion they don’t like a leftieliberal, a bolshevi or a communist.
In reality there are big differences between a liberal (like myself – and I would also count Vandorlo or olga among them) and a social democrat and a communist and so on.
This simplification discredits everything they (BOB…, tom. law. justasking etc) say, because it shows they can’t differentiate ..
They take their arguments from magazines or even obscure sources like hungarianambience, which is really laughable.
So NOBODY here will take them seriously, although a few like Vandorlo try reasoning with them – I think it is “Verlorene Liebesmüh”…
In French bob etc would be called “terrible simplificateur”…
They are the type of people where you have to take every fact they cite and analyse what it really means, because they twist everything and ignore what they don’t like…

  44. Will G says:

@C’est moi, dude, i couldn’t care less, just can’t stand “justasking” and wanted to piss him off. ;) Besides, in his reply, he kind of missed the point, which was that his usage was wrong, but that obviously sailed over his head

  45. olga says:

    @ C’est Moi
The hardest thing for me to get used to in Hungarian politics is that it’s so different from
    Canadian and American politics
Canada has 4 Federal parties (that count) There is a Grren party but I don’t even know if they have a seat. No problem understanding their plaform. I was and always will be a Liberal but I like and respect our PM who is a Conservative – if we were forced to vote, I would vote for him (Liberal Party is playing games at the moment)
There are very clear cut platforms in both countries. We have a lot of American friends who were divided between Obaba and McCain until the lovely Sarah came aloneg. It’s also clear to differentiate between a respectable Republican and a Rush Limbaugh.
Back to Hungary – JOBBIK is at least clear. I
only have 2 friends in Hungary and I asked them which party they support: Here is the answer: (I wish I kept the email because they wrote in Hungarian and when I paraphrase them I am going to make huge spelling mistakes.)
” A Jobbik-ra nem erdemes beszelni. Azok hulyek.
Az MSZP es FIDESZ ugyan olyan csirkefogok. Nem erdemes szavazni. The soha nem fogod ezt megerteni mert Kanadai fejed van. ”
Now that was helpful. Never heard the word “csirkefogo” but I asked my Mom- it’s “crook”

  46. Vándorló says:

@Wolfi: If I were trying to persuade them, then I think it would be fair to call this a wasted effort, but I don’t pretend for a minute that is likely or possible.
There are two reasons I engage in these discussions:
    1. They make me question everything I take for granted.
    2. They make me go back to data and first principles to see what is and isn’t sound about the ‘knowledge’ or beliefs I’ve come to accept.
Both Pávaszem and BobsGotAnAnnoyingNomdePlume use the same basic tactics, though to be fair to them it is clearly a reflection of they way they think and not an overtly deliberate attempt to bamboozle others. They really are fooling themselves. Like you say, in place of an argument they quote lots of disjointed sources and are happy with non sequiturs.
You have to love Bobs… latest attempt to prove Britain is not a nation of immigrants that has as its core piece of evidence the fact that many are descended from a small set of genes coming from Iberia. Maybe I don’t understand what an immigrant is – I shall find out when I address him in full when I have more time.
As an aside I thought your use of the German “Verlorene Liebesmüh” was interesting as this can also be used as the title for Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labours Lost” which in Hungarian is “Lóvátett Lovagok”. “Lóvátett” is a contraction of the expression “lóvá tesz” meaning to bamboozle, fool etc…
Anyway, wild horses wouldn’t drag me from a good argument http://bit.ly/IssWq

    Olga,
I’ve been posting here for quite a while now, and had always tried to refrain from being the tiniest bit offensive, always trying to keep a neutral tone, even going so far as to try to engage some of the more extreme posters, such as my stalker, beju. At one point I had a pretty decent reputation here as someone who wouldn’t resort to flaming and other wonderful behavior. I’ve actually met with a few of the posters here who have completely different opinions than myself, and i actually enjoyed it immensely, what with the complete lack of insults and disparaging remarks. Having said that, unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that there really was no benefit whatsoever in trying to remain neutral and considerate, as the replies to my well thought out posts were little more than babbling stupidity, and have thus resorted to being a little turd. Basically, try not to judge me by my numerous juvenile comments. While they certainly don’t help matters, they do give me the smallest bit of satisfaction.

Van: I liked your post…in particular, the bit about how reading things makes you question things you take for granted, and makes you go back to your info to see if you can reinterpret it. I think there is a lot of sense in that. It made me think about something I read on your website about differences in communication styles between Hungarians and ‘Westerners’ (for want of a better term)…I have asked myself the question whether or not when people write things that ‘we’ see as offensive/insulting/provocative/rude/whatever, they are actually just communicating in a way that they are accustomed to…that perhaps it’s ‘normal’ for Hungarians to use language and communication in everyday communication ‘inoffensively’ that we would be ‘offended’ by. It’s an idea I find interesting, although, I do see a danger of either reducing Hungarians to being a ‘rude race’, or overlooking personal responsibility for the way we interact with others. In other words, I don’t want this idea to either write off Hungarians, or for it to become an excuse for those who get a perverse thrill out of being horrid. (both Hungarian and non-Hungarian alike) I like a lot of what FL says about finding the point of balance between blaming others and taking responsibility.I have also seen that it is possbile sometimes to communicate with people even when there has been ‘bad blood’.”A soft answer turns away wrath.”…(cont)

  50. Cináed says:

I just wonder sometimes how far is far enough when genuine intentions to communicate end up in watering things down to the point of abstraction.I think there is a kind of subtle censorship that happens when in avoiding backlash or aggression, individuals choose the soft approach. It gets to a point where aggression is rewarded, either through acquisance, or through reaction to provocation resulting in ‘disqualification’.I had an interesting conversation tonight about how each stratum in society sees those above as ‘fat cats’, as corrupt, as greedy etc, and those below as being lazy, moochers, backward or ‘dirty’.Sometimes it works in the reverse…people are described as dirty, lazy etc, to socially categorise them.In any case, I often think that the threat of aggression is about brinkmanship, and that as FL wisely said that it is important “To not be a sucker for those who claim to be in posession of the absolute truth.”

  51. Cináed says:

oh…and I thought I should put a disclaimer. It’s not only Hungarians who use the tactics I mentioned above. I don’t think Hungarians are all rude people…actually, the fact that I know some impossibly nice Hungarians puts an awful hole in my theory.I also know plenty of non-Hungarian jerks too.I am also not saying that just because someone is accused of something that they are in fact innocent.Maybe they are guilty.I would say, however, that two wrongs don’t make a right, so being aggressive and using language that is really only likely to provoke is actually counter-productive because all it does is further polarise different sections of the community.Did I leave anything out? Sometimes the disclaimer ends up as long as the post.

That Spielberg is a whiner. I blame him for all my problems. He was right about us Jews running the camps for the Nazis. Fine movie that Swindler’s List. The Germans got nothing on us. In the good old days, we invented concentration camps for our beloved Stalin Comrade and we took care of 10-20 million misfits in the Soviet Union. Hungarys long struggle from the revolt 15.3.
in Bratislava to anti-semitic riots there,in szombathely,in szekesfehervar,in pest etc over
to Petofi complaints written in 1848 to Mihaly
Vorosmarty on the jewish question to Kossuth and so on…dealing with the jewish question, is not over.
The question should it be liberal assimilation
    (homogeniztion)or dissimilation(jews are incabable
of being hungarians) is completely besides te point.Even the natinal writers became prisoners
of the language and concepts of ideological tangle. They were unable to appraise and to interpret objectively events.
In search of objectivity and fullness of explanation Hungary must rethink the history
of hungarian jews, like so much else, and give expression to something that was permitted to exist in hungarys history but was prevented from attaining a conscious, expressible form.
    Hungarian national consciouness,guided by liberal
thinking, building on the legacy of Kossuth, both as concept and reality, must be interpreted in terms of cultural integration (not assimilation, homogenization or dissimilation)
Only a transformation of such magnitude could put an end to the ideological dichotomy which exists today.

Viking. I would give your scribblings more credibility if you would not insist on continually ‘slating’ Jobbik. I do not support them. And, if they are ‘nazis’ in disguise they won’t get votes. It’s as simple as that.
Start panning MSZP for their role in sending Hungary to the dogs and chiding Fidesz for not making clear what they intend to do once elected next year. This is more relevant than the same message that Jobbik is the big bad wolf.
PS Panning the Jews for just about everything is a
Hungarian, national pastime…not just the Jobbik supporters. I would blame the gypsies given the option. (Only joking, I think).

    TiborKovács at December 10, 2009 12:46 PM

Of course you are right in the big picture.
I really do not think that Jobbik will get so much more than around 500.000 votes (what ever % that will be).
As I written before, that is about the number of real votes that seem to vote on parties like Jobbik/MIEP/etc here in Hungary.
On this site, the discussion has very much been high-jacked around Jobbik and that is both sad in a sense (the real problems are not discussed), but also a credit to the small vocal group that is the supporter group of Jobbik-type of parties.
    You know the saying -
“Small dogs barks, big dog bites”

  94. TiborKovács says:

It benefits the two main parties that Jobbik and Magyar Guarda are considered the villains of the piece. The MSZP and Fidesz have not made a success of this country over the last twenty years have they? Jobbik have had nothing to do with it.
I certainly applaud any efforts to encourage posters
to contribute in highlighting the more serious problems in Hungary today. I don’t consider MG and Jobbik to be a problem. I don’t support them either.

  95. olga says:

    @ Tibor and Boszorkany
I get the picture – I am going to assume you are both hungarians living in Hungary. If not, pretend my assumption is correct
MSZP, FIDESZ, JOBBIK – not the answer to hungary’s problems.
Which party is? I mentioned this before, but I only know 3 Hungarians living in Hungary, their answer is not to vote and not bother with politics
    ” a JOBBIK bolond a masik ketto csirefogo. ”
So who will you vote for? Will you be staying home as well?
If FIDESZ wins, does it mean they
have the market cornered on people who actually take the trouble to vote?

  96. wolfi says:

@Viking: Like you (and some others here) I’d very glad if we could return to discussing today’s Hungary’s problems – and solutions.
But as long as in every discussion some jobo enters with
“Jesus was not a jew” or
“Hungarian language is not related to Finnish” or
“another example of Gypsy crime” or
“It’s all the communists’ fault” or
    “Trianon!” or
“Magyarorszag only for Magyars” or … (you know more examples)
    that will be difficult…
