Sort of makes you wonder if other things on the site aren’t 100% true either…

The site seemed normal enough with the usual mix but as the days went by; the Zionazi/Communist scum got slimier and slimier. In my opinion, one of the slimiest things was still Erik exposing my IP location to the Zionazi/Communist scum. No self-respecting list owner would do that unless there was a legal requirement or if he was one of them.
This is not the only Hungarian bashing site but it may be one of the worst. It was a pleasure to get to know people such as you and Ricsi but if we discount you two, there is no one else of any worth on this list.
I am confident that I will find a real Hungarian site where one can discuss real Hungarian issues with real Hungarians, not with Hungarian haters. This was a real education in how Jews operate, not only in America but in Hungary also. Maybe more so.

Canadian and American politics
Canada has 4 Federal parties (that count) There is a Grren party but I don’t even know if they have a seat. No problem understanding their plaform. I was and always will be a Liberal but I like and respect our PM who is a Conservative – if we were forced to vote, I would vote for him (Liberal Party is playing games at the moment)
There are very clear cut platforms in both countries. We have a lot of American friends who were divided between Obaba and McCain until the lovely Sarah came aloneg. It’s also clear to differentiate between a respectable Republican and a Rush Limbaugh.
Back to Hungary – JOBBIK is at least clear. I

There are two reasons I engage in these discussions:
1. They make me question everything I take for granted.
2. They make me go back to data and first principles to see what is and isn’t sound about the ‘knowledge’ or beliefs I’ve come to accept.

I’ve been posting here for quite a while now, and had always tried to refrain from being the tiniest bit offensive, always trying to keep a neutral tone, even going so far as to try to engage some of the more extreme posters, such as my stalker, beju. At one point I had a pretty decent reputation here as someone who wouldn’t resort to flaming and other wonderful behavior. I’ve actually met with a few of the posters here who have completely different opinions than myself, and i actually enjoyed it immensely, what with the complete lack of insults and disparaging remarks. Having said that, unfortunately, I came to the conclusion that there really was no benefit whatsoever in trying to remain neutral and considerate, as the replies to my well thought out posts were little more than babbling stupidity, and have thus resorted to being a little turd. Basically, try not to judge me by my numerous juvenile comments. While they certainly don’t help matters, they do give me the smallest bit of satisfaction.

Van: I liked your post…in particular, the bit about how reading things makes you question things you take for granted, and makes you go back to your info to see if you can reinterpret it. I think there is a lot of sense in that. It made me think about something I read on your website about differences in communication styles between Hungarians and ‘Westerners’ (for want of a better term)…I have asked myself the question whether or not when people write things that ‘we’ see as offensive/insulting/provocative/rude/whatever, they are actually just communicating in a way that they are accustomed to…that perhaps it’s ‘normal’ for Hungarians to use language and communication in everyday communication ‘inoffensively’ that we would be ‘offended’ by. It’s an idea I find interesting, although, I do see a danger of either reducing Hungarians to being a ‘rude race’, or overlooking personal responsibility for the way we interact with others. I just wonder sometimes how far is far enough when genuine intentions to communicate end up in watering things down to the point of abstraction.I think there is a kind of subtle censorship that happens when in avoiding backlash or aggression, individuals choose the soft approach.It gets to a point where aggression is rewarded, either through acquisance, or through reaction to provocation resulting in ‘disqualification’.I had an interesting conversation tonight about how each stratum in society sees those above as ‘fat cats’, as corrupt, as greedy etc, and those below as being lazy, moochers, backward or ‘dirty’.Sometimes it works in the reverse…people are described as dirty, lazy etc, to socially categorise them.In any case, I often think that the threat of aggression is about brinkmanship, and that as FL wisely said that it is important “To not be a sucker for those who claim to be in posession of the absolute truth.”

Of course you are right in the big picture.
I really do not think that Jobbik will get so much more than around 500.000 votes (what ever % that will be).
As I written before, that is about the number of real votes that seem to vote on parties like Jobbik/MIEP/etc here in Hungary.
On this site, the discussion has very much been high-jacked around Jobbik and that is both sad in a sense (the real problems are not discussed), but also a credit to the small vocal group that is the supporter group of Jobbik-type of parties.
You know the saying -

It benefits the two main parties that Jobbik and Magyar Guarda are considered the villains of the piece. The MSZP and Fidesz have not made a success of this country over the last twenty years have they? Jobbik have had nothing to do with it.
