Bajnai welcomes Czech court ruling clearing way for Lisbon Treaty adoption
Hungarian Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai welcomed the Tuesday ruling of the Czech Constitutional Court, which declared the Lisbon Treaty compatible with the Czech Constitution, the Hungarian Government Spokesman's Office told MTI.
"The Czech Constitutional Court's ruling is good news for Europe, goods news for Hungary and good news for Hungarians within and beyond the border," the office said in a statement.
The Lisbon Treaty may open a new chapter in the life of the European Union with more effective institutions and a stronger representation of citizen interests. The joint foreign policy will strengthen the EU so that the alliance of European nations will once again become a key player in the world, it said.
The new system of institutions will enable the EU to fight more effectively against the impacts of the economic crisis and climate change, for safer energy supply, the office said.
According to the document, the Lisbon Treaty and the Charter of Fundamental Rights strengthen the rights of EU citizens and minorities. "No matter where they live, Hungarians will benefit from the Lisbon Treaty," the statement said.

This is just too laughable. What exactly will the EU do for a safer energy supply promise to suck-off the entire Kremlin each time they decide to shut off their supply?
