Over four fifths of Hungarians say corruption is a serious and unresolved social problem and demand severer punishments for offenders as well as more public-awareness campaigns, according to a survey by Szazadveg, a think-tank, published on Tuesday.
The response broadly cuts across all segments of society, regardless of political affiliation, according to the October survey.
Around 80 percent saw government institutions and business transactions as generally corrupt.
Between 60 and 70 percent had a dim view of local and judicial authorities and 62 percent thought everyday life was sullied by graft.
Just over half of respondents wanted to see stricter legal penalties while over a third called for greater public awareness.
Sixteen percent of respondents said corruption was indispensable for managing affairs successfully.

Being concerned in one thing, participating in a survey is another.
Doing something about it is a totally different ball game...every once in awhile people have to stick their necks out. Sitting back and just bitching, is not acceptable any longer. Go out get involved and demand answers from YOUR government, you know...the people that YOU pay to work for YOU and not the other way around.
Hi justasking
Missed you lately, nice to have you back :-)
This is a crucial point you raise, when too many good people fear or are to lazy to get involved and one day they wake up when it's too late discovering all their liberties and Human rights dissolved.
Szevasz Law;
That is just the point...enough of the laziness, get off you ass and finally do something! If not, I do not want to hear anymore "whoa is me". It is not enough to say that "we'll show'em at the poles" It is what you do DURING the time that whatever party is in government that counts. Hold them (whatever party)accountable and MAKE them explain until you understand even if they have to "dumb it down" until you get it. That is what they are being paid to do...explaining where tax payers moneies are going AND is the countries interest being considered/protected. Start promoting what Hungary has to offer the world and not what the world has to offer Hungary. " Nobody sticks Baby in the corner" (it's a quote from the movie Dirty Dancing) well you get the point.
