Hungarian Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai will name his candidate for European commissioner by the end of next week at the latest, Government Spokesman Domokos Szollar told MTI on Wednesday.
Before making a decision, Bajnai will hold a series of consultations with EU politicians and others.
The prime minister would like to choose a candidate who is suitable for the post in several fields. It is another important aspect, however, which field will be assigned to Hungary within the European Commission, the spokesman said.
