Hungarian Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai on Monday will meet the nine ambassadors who expressed concern over factors that they considered having a negative impact on Hungary's investment climate, government spokesman Domokos Szollar told MTI on Sunday.
Issuing a joint statement on Wednesday, the embassies of the US, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Japan, UK, Germany, Norway and Switzerland criticised lack of transparency in Hungary's investment environment, saying that foreign investors are affected by "non-transparent behaviour" in areas of public utilities, broadcasting and elements of the transport infrastructure.
Bajnai initiated the meeting to inform the ambassadors about his government's commitment to attracting and encouraging further investment and implementing its anti-corruption package successfully, the spokesman said.
The government aims to continue its strict and consistent economic policy focussing on labour and entrepreneurship, and make further efforts to increase transparency in public life, Szollar said.
