Demoratic Forum Chairwoman Ibolya Dávid has said that she would resign her post if her party failed to reach the 5% threshold to enter parliament in next year's elections, Bors reports. Dávid added, however, that she believes this would be unlikely, since she expects the party to reach 8-10%, which might seem a bit laughable considering their current support is around 1%. What should not be dismissed, however, is that the Democratic Forum will be the obvious recipient of the protest vote next April from people unwilling to vote for the Socialists, Fidesz or Jobbik, and for a lot of those voters who abandoned the Free Democrats. While 8-10% is more than optimistic, sneaking in with 5%, especially considering their surprise performance in the EP elections, would hardly be shocking.

Just saw Mrs David on HIRTV. I didn't understand what she said, but the facial expressions of the people standing next to her were very revealing. I don't think her party stands a chance - and it probably is a good thing.
To me oist Hungarian politicians look burnt-out and many of them are of the type "I wouldn't buy a used car from them".
It's a sorry state (pun intended!)...
