As much as Ferenc Gyurcsány was the face of the Socialists’ election campaign in 2006, it appears likely that he’ll be one of the main faces of Fidesz’s current electoral campaign, if the poster above is any indication. As index.hu reports, one of the first Fidesz campaign posters appeared, and is likely to set the tone for the upcoming months. Behind Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai are some of the Socialist’s “shining stars”, (left to right) the jailed District VII Mayor György Hunvald, former Budapest Vice Mayor Miklós Hagyó who was tied to the BKV corruption scandals, the unpopular Ferenc Gyurcsány, and also jailed former Socialist MP János Zuschlag. And, in a play on the Socialists’ earlier campaign posters which declared “We do what needs to be done”, this poster declares “Resign! Do what you need to do!” The next few months will be, among other things, amusing…
