Bajnai’s euro adoption statement reveals geography is not his strongest subject

bajnai-geography.jpgYears ago, politicians were predicting that Hungary would flourish after joining the European Union and that the euro would have replaced the forint by now. Obviously that’s not the case, but earlier today, Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai declared that if the next government sticks to his own government’s policies, then a euro adoption date of 2013 is very realistic, nol.hu reports. While this is obviously a way to blame Fidesz in case that doesn’t happen in four years’ time, the choice sound bite was when he said that Hungary would be “the first to adopt the euro in the region.” Umm, what region do Slovenia and Slovakia belong to again?

Bajnai is a blockhead. What more proof do you need?
