Controversial mayor receives death threat from “Roma Angels”

The mayor of the northeastern Hungarian town of Edeleny, known for his anti-Roma and anti-Semitic remarks, has received another death threat, the local mayor’s office told MTI on Thursday.

The mayor received a letter from the Roma-Hungarian Chapter of the organisation Democratic Network containing sharp ammunition and the text “Roma’s angels”, along with a Socialist party campaign flier, the office said. A secretary opened the letter and called the police.

Molnar had said in an interview that he preferred “Hungarian interests to global capital — Jewish capital if you like — which wants to devour the whole world, especially Hungary.” He also sparked anger when he claimed that pregnant Roma women in his town harmed their unborn babies in order to get higher family allowances.

Molnar is an MP for main opposition Fidesz, but the party decided not to nominate him as a candidate in the 2010 elections. Molnar said, however, that he would run as an independent.

This was not the first death threat he received, the mayor’s office said.

Another posting of yours I agree with. He will win.
Very sad. The Rush Limbaugh of Edeleny.

Molnar only said what most Hungarians know. A “Socialist” said the same thing…

As far as I know, Molnár wasn’t excluded by Fidesz yet and didn’t leave the party either – I wonder how can he be an “independent” then. It rather looks like Fidesz is running two candidates for the job. Very clever.

Inciting hatred against the Roma with allegations that can’t possible be proven is unconscionable regardless who said it . It’s the MO of a cowardly politician who wants to appeal to bigots for votes knowing he is immune from libel.
If all those pregnant Roma women were tested and found to have drugs in their system, it could still not be connected to “getting more money” because they could be drug addicts.
Unless there is wiretap, emails or other concrete evidence to back up the allegations, there is no purpose to the statements other than grandstanding in front of ignorant Roma haters. If there is such evidence , the women should face criminal charges. Until then shut the f… up.
The allegation about Jewish people wanting to devour Hungary “especially Hungary” is insane
You must have seen the racist youtube video going around for the past couple of years with the message that high Muslim birthrates vs low European birth rates mean Muslims will be taking over Europe withing X number of years. (can’t remember the number) The video details specific stats in France, Holland, Sweden etc. No mention of Hungary
Keeping Mr. Molnar in mind, I imagined a Jewish person bartering with the Muslims: ” You can have all of Europe as long as we can have Hungary. That’s all we ask for”
Explains why Muslims don’t have mass immigration to Hungary.

I suspect that I know more about the Canadian legal system than you know about the American or Hungarian legal systems. Under US laws, there is nothing in Mr. Molnar’s statements close to libel. They would not be libel even if what he said were not true, but I believe them to be true.
An MSZP representative much earlier claimed as Mr. Molnar that some gypsy mothers injured their children to get more aid. The MSZP claim did not cause uproar and I suspect that you do not even know who that MSZP representative was. So much for double standard.
Israeli President Simon Perez bragged that they were buying up Hungary. Mr. Molnar was not only right but he would have been amiss in his duties as most members of current Parliament are if he did not speak up against hostile Israeli takeover of Hungary. Those “Hungarian” politicians who attack him for looking out for Hungary’s interests are guilty of treason.
The bigots, racists and haters are those who attack others, murder them and take away their possessions, not those who try to defend themselves and their people against the aggressors.

These are all lies ………If one made similar accusations against someone in America, the accused could sue and a jury could award sizable award for damages.

I suspect mark doesn’t know about ANY legal systems, Canadian, Australian, Hungarian, and, especially, American.

For two people to have a debate, it is essential that they both be competent enough to understand what the other is saying. You are so ignorant that I will not even attempt to argue with you. No use arguing with a lamppost.
If Olga has a problem with my reasoning and asks me, I will elaborate my reasoning for her.

I am not familiar with US hate laws but I do know Americans are much more lax about hate speeches than Canada. I also believe such laws vary from State to State
In Canada it’s a crime under our Criminal Code Section 319 (1) – (Federal law as opposed to Provincial legislation)
    http://www.mediaawareness.ca/english/resources/legislation/canadian_law/federal/criminal_code/criminal_code_hate.cfm
Yes, I am aware that Hungary is not Canada. I am even aware that Hungary is not Saudi where women are stoned to death on a regular basis. So I guess I should just look at Hungarian laws as “the cup half full vs. the cup half empty”

In America, you can say just about anything about people, race, religion, ethnic groups and such without the Courts going after you. The most aggressive people who defended the right of free speech were the Jewish smut peddlers, “artists” and moviemakers who convinced the US Supreme Court that it is a freedom issue to offend any race or religion as long as you do not target individuals. They even managed to get a license to attack individuals with disgusting smut and parodies about people as long as they were public figures. As a good measure of double standard, these same people would like now to limit the freedom of speech of those who do not speak too kindly of Jews and Israel. I suspect that they will not succeed because of “precedence rules” which can be applied to argue cases on past court decision. I would say that almost anything goes.
The case I mentioned was different because a Jewish organization publicly called a couple anti-Semites who were in a dispute with their Jewish neighbors. They sued for defamation of character and won a large judgment.
We do not know people by name on this list and it is not possible to sue anyone for defamation. Calling someone a child molester who calls me Nazi or Arrowcross is actually meaningless because you cannot defame someone using a fake name. In these cases, people should use some judgment and not call others names unless they ant to be called names in return. It may be childish but not libel. This morning, I saw a slime ball libeling someone using that person’s name. That is libel but the trash attacked using a fake name.
I am curious about Canada’s hate speech law. Does that punish anyone who uses “hate speech” as in France or only those who use “hate speech” against Jews and such? For me, attacking Christians or Muslims is just as much of “hate speech” as attacking Jews. I believe that is what the French has. I do not like any curbs on free speech but and evenhanded “hate speech” law would still be better than one catering to only one group.
I already wrote about the Communist MSZMP sensor Ildiko Lendvai wanting a “holocaust” denial law but pulled back when Fidesz agreed with the provision to include Communist crimes as well as Nazi crimes. With the horrible history of Communists, especially such Jewish Communists as Rakosi, Apro, Bauer and others, Hungarians have no appetite for a law that punishes “holocaust” deniers but gives a free pass to Communists.

  12. Bystander says:

    Olga,
Why do you even bother attempting to argue with “Mr. Stormfront” Mark/Tom/etc.? Though he wants Jobbik to take over Hungary, BNC-England, etc., he clearly couldn’t resist the lures of even a *Fidesz* politician who happens to be a flaming racist… “Hey that guy sounds great to ME, even if he’s aligned with a non-Jobbik party! Sign that guy UP! He hates Jews/Roma too!”
So, your motives are clear there, Mark… you simply like people who hate Jews/Roma, why not be more up front (“Storm-front” in fact) about your beliefs and cut to the chase?
I for one would like to see a neutral translation of that Peres speech anyway… the only references to it on the web come from Jew-hating sites who probably have taken liberties with the translation… For all we know he said “Israelis have been buying *investments* in Manhattan, Hungary” etc. and considering the MILEAGE you hatemongers have been getting out of that one speech, I think an *unbiased translation* is in order… because it seems that one freaking SENTENCE out of the mouth of ONE politician (FIND ME MORE SIR) has become the basis for an entire race-hating political philosophy for the backward nitwits, and out of the mouth of dozens of Jobbik/BNC nitwits we get actual violence inciting-comments that run racist circles around Peres’ words (and how MUCH land REALLY has been bought up by Jews in Hungary?… show stats before building up a very large lie out of this Mark/Tom please). Thx.

  13. Mark says:

Funny how much hate pours out these Communist AVO types while calling others hatemonger.

  14. Mark says:

THIS IS WHAT THE SUPREME COURT CALLS PROTECTED FREE SPEECH:
    “Jerry Falwell controversy
Main article: Hustler Magazine v. Falwell
In a 1983 parody of an advertisement for Campari, Hustler described the then-prominent fundamentalist Protestant minister Jerry Falwell having a drunken, incestuous encounter with his mother in an outhouse, after having previously attacked Falwell in the magazine for years.[3] Falwell sued Flynt, alleging libel and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The case was ultimately decided by the Supreme Court in Flynt’s favor.[3] The decision strengthened free speech rights in relation to parodies of public figures.[3]”
“Soros is the Larry Flynt of finance. Yet, somehow, he manages to get invited to all the big parties, whether he’s lobbying to tax into oblivion small business owners and family farmers in America or to punish industrious countries everywhere for all their mighty advancements.”

  15. wolfi says:

I have looked at Larry Flint’s Hustler magazine as a young man – and I would rather gave 10 Flints than one bigot Jerry Falwell – wasn’t he or one of his bigot gay-hating friends found out to have had sex with a male prostitute ?

  16. Koermendi says:

“Sharp” ammunition… “Live”, usually, in the English that I was
taught. “Scharf” feels as if it came through German.

  17. wolfi says:

@Koermendi: Yes, “scharfe Munition” is live ammunition.
BTW: DunaTV is just showing a very interesting report on the Ceaucescus – they got some live ammo at the end…

  18. Bystander says:

Yes, that Flynt anecdote is an odd reference from an even odder person!
As sleazy as Flynt is/was, who in their right mind finds Jerry Falwell a sympathetic character? Even Jim and Tammy Bakker, the poster children for hypocritical abusers-of-religion-to-make-money considered Falwell to be evil incarnate.
So, if Flynt=Soros (ie “eeeeevil” in your twisted mythology) who the hell does Falwell equate to?
Tom/Mark, you’re not really making much sense here. Don’t bother attempting to clarify either, it’s kind of pointless. Even Sarah Palin knows Falwell was a jackass and that’s saying a lot!
