Sólyom says PM free to call Jobbik "undemocratic" party

Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai's labelling the radical nationalist Jobbik party "undemocratic" falls under his right to a freedom of opinion, a senior official of the President's Office told MTI on Friday.

Ferenc Kumin responded to a letter sent to President Laszlo Solyom by Jobbik vice-chairman Zoltan Balczo complaining about Bajnai's recent remark.

Bajnai told MTI on Sunday that the country's key financial data would be made available to all democratic parties in the elections as "open books". He called the non-parliamentary Jobbik an undemocratic outfit which he said "should be quarantined by all democratic forces."

Kumin noted, however, that agencies of the state were obliged by law to ensure access to data to anyone concerning the budget and its implementation, state assets and relevant contracts.

Sólyom is correct and Bajnai is free to call Jobbik "undemocratic" party. Bajnai is lying but if we forbade the Communist MSZP from to lie, they might as well be mutes. Everything they say is a lie. However, Bajnai the liar and thief have no legal grounds to deny budget information to Jobbik.

Some of these ill-behaved foreign guests asked me on more than one occasion what Jobbik’s position on this or that. Hard to make these bozos understand that I am not the spokesperson for Jobbik but I have something better, Here is the response from András Király, Jobbik spokesperson to the “libatolvaj” Bajnai’s lunatic statement about Jobbik:

1. A Jobbik egy hivatalosan bejegyzett magyarországi párt, mely soha törvényt nem sértett, vezetői nem állnak bűnvádi eljárás alatt, szemben az MSZP több politikusával.
2. A Jobbik belső szabályzatát illetően is demokratikus párt.
3. A Jobbik nem célnak, hanem eszköznek tekinti a politikát.
7. Bajnai Gordon közérdekű információkat akar a pártoknak megmutatni, amelyek a választópolgárok előtt is ismertek kellene, hogy legyenek. Ha nincsen takargatnivalója, akkor mitől fél?

have no legal grounds to deny budget information to Jobbik

Only MPs (Members of the Hungarian National Parliament) has the 'right' to ask questions to the Government (all Ministers and the Prime Minister).
It is defined in the Constitution and the different House Rules that exists for the Parliament.
Very basic stuff.
Jobbik, who has no MPs and is not registered as a Parliamentarian Party Faction, has no 'right' to demand answers, then any other Hungarian citizen.
If the said "budget information" exists as 'official' document according to valid Hungarian Law, then any Hungarian citizen can ask to access this info.
If it is not 'official' then certain rules apply, like only MPs, or even only those in a certain Committee can access this info.
That are basic rules, valid in any country.
Nothing more nothing less.
The rest is just Election Campaigning.

What the point Viking? Mark cares so little for this topic that he will ignore this recognizable fact, the fact that that this is an english-language blog so cutting and pasting is not only intellectually lazy but also mainly ignored, and the fact that only his Jobbik friends care about this topic. But I guess this point is mute (!)

@CM - came across a similar article on "moot" meaning. Not authoritative but an interesting read.

Reading the Jobbik communiqué shows that the MTI is showing its Communist MSZP bias again. MTI includes only the part affirming the “libatolvaj” Bajnai’s right to express his opinion. Sólyom’s office however affirms Jobbik’s right to the information “libatolvaj” Bajnai makes available to other parties. Why I am not surprised for this “minor” omission?

Sólyom László válasza: nem diszkriminálhatja Bajnai a Jobbikot! http://jobbik.hu/rovatok/kozlemeny/solyom_laszlo_valasza_nem_diszkriminalhatja_bajnai_a_jobbikot

Why not reading the 'truth' from the horse mouth and choose yourself.
