On-air remark about Christianity causes stir

Journalist Imre Para-Kovács caused a stir on Tuesday by declaring on the radio that “a child’s life can be destroyed by two things: Christianity and pornography”.

Christian Democrat chairman Zsolt Semjén called the remark an attack against Christians and Christianity.

Klubrádió host Tibor Bakács, on whose show the comment was made, said he had repeatedly dissociated himself from the remark and trusts that Para-Kovács will do the same.

Para-Kovács could not be reached for comment.

Why? Seems like a perfectly fair comment to me. Although to be fair, pornography can sometimes be relatively harmless…

Friedrich von Schiller, one of Germany’s most famous poets wrote:
“Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain.”
Isaac Asimov used this as a title for a science fiction novel – here we could use it for the discussion with our resident jobos …

Stupidity? There is wagon loads of it in these parts. Especially evident in those candidates who will insist on mentioning/condemning Jobbik at every available opportunity.
Fidesz will govern. MSZP do govern: albeit by default.
Can we get down to brass tacks by discussing the real issues that do/will impact on the people that live and work in this country?
