Socialist official meets ethnic Hungarian leaders in Ukraine

Senior official of Hungary’s Socialist party Katalin Szili met with leaders of ethnic Hungarian communities in western Ukraine on Thursday.

On the second day of her visit, Szili, who is head of the permanent committee of the Forum of Hungarian Representatives of the Carpathian Basin, had talks with the head of the Hungarian Greek Catholic Church Daniel Bendasz in Berehove and with Roman Catholic Bishop Antal Majnek in Mukachevo.

She also met Hungarian students and laid a wreath at the monument of painter Mihaly Munkacsy, who was born in that city.
