Prime Minister to sue documentary maker and daily for libel

Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai is turning to the courts over an interview conducted with László Pesty in daily Helyi Téma, which was subsequently reproduced in a documentary by Pesty, government portal magyarorszag.hu announced. The name of Pesty’s documentary is “Time of Thieves.”

Bajnai has won won similar libel cases in the past, and Fidesz-supporting daily Magyar Nemzet was ordered to publish corrections, the portal notes.

István Tarlós’s campaign chief in his unsuccessful bid to become Budapest’s mayor in 2006 and created a film for opposition leader Viktor Orbán’s website in 2007.
