Bajnai outlines government’s priorities in the future

The government’s priorities in the years ahead will be increasing employment, improving education, combating extremists, supporting Roma integration and regaining the shaken credibility of politics, Prime Minister Gordon Bajnai said on Monday.

Speaking at the István Bibó Society’s Day of the Republic commemoration in the former upper chamber of the House, Bajnai said “as Hungary’s democratic institutions have been completed, and are strong, their stability must be assured”. He then called for a change of mentality regarding “democratic conduct”.

The premier listed accession to NATO and the EU as shared national triumphs, and mentioned euro adoption as a new goal.

Bajnai said the election campaign will “probe voters” rather than debate platforms, “but no politics can be built on lies”. At stake is whether the next cabinet can make good decisions, rather than “good sounding” ones. Parliament is not for MPs “to walk out of, but somewhere they can enter and hear and consider all the counter-arguments”, he added

Justice should be kept out of political battles, as the unbiased operation of the courts and prosecutors offices is necessary in a modern republic, he underlined.

Bajnai the libatolvaj spoke not a word about the farmers his thievery ruined or his offshore accounts where he stashed the money he stole from Hungarian farmers, pushing some of them commit suicide. Why should anyone care what this criminal has to say who was put in power by the Communist politburo to replace another Communist criminal before him?

Mark, who lives in the US, which he thinks is a wonderful country, has a lot of complaints about the situation in Hungary
If we look at new study on ‘Hunger in America 2010′, which is the largest study of domestic hunger, providing comprehensive and statistically-valid data on our emergency food distribution system and the people Feeding America serves
Hunger in America 2010 is extremely detailed, drawing on data from more than 61,000 interviews with clients and surveys of 37,000 feeding agencies.
The report shows that hunger is increasing at an alarming rate in the United States, and our network is expanding its reach in response:
    * Feeding America is annually providing food to 37 million Americans, including 14 million children
This is an increase of 46 percent over 2006, when we were feeding 25 million Americans, including 9 million children, each year.
    * That means one in eight Americans now rely on Feeding America for food and groceries.
    * Thirty-six percent of the households we serve have at least one person working.
    * The number of children the Feeding America network serves has increased by 50 percent since 2006

I do not think one can say the situation in Hungary is *that* bad
But that is maybe then the difference between ‘Communist’ Europe and ‘Free’ US

Says Viking, who lives in Hungary, and comes from Sweden; and continually complains about Hungary and anti-Semitism. How ironic.

The difference is that I live here in Hungary
Mark does not and I believe you live in the UK, but I could be wrong on that, then I have not seen where you claim to live
    .
I am not using Sweden as a Good Example(tm) for Hungary, as Mark cannot stop telling us how good the US is in this or that aspect
He really shove it down our throats how Good the US is
    .
Other differences is that, one reason why I oppose Jobbik, is that I have seen the different Swedish White Power organisations getting more and more influential since the 70s and I would like not to see the same thing happen in Hungary
The big difference between the biggest Swedish White Power organisations and most of the Hungarian ones is the latter’s clear anti-Jewishness, that goes back centuries in Hungary, which I assume you, as a self-declared intellectual, is well aware of that what today Mark and other Jew-haters speak about the legacy of 1919 and Communism is just an excuse for centuries old hatred
    .
As you well noticed I do not *only* argue against anti-Jewishness, I have no problem to include your pet project anti-Islam in my list on Bad Things(tm)
Finally, when did I *ever* complain on ‘Hungary’?
I complain about Jobbik and their likes, like you, but you and your beloved Jobbik is *not* Hungary

    @Viking:
Absolutely correct – Hungary is not Jobbik, and will never be!
In a few years we’ll laugh about Vona and his cretins Lawless Murky and Bobshitpile like we laugh when we see Charlie Chaplin playing the Dictator …
I don’t worry too much about them. Keep up the good work!

  9. Minstrel says:

@Viking. Time to start promoting Hungary and fuck everything else. Mark and his pals don’t appear to live here, so why bother arguing with them.
Jobbik, MSZP, and Fidesz, can look after themselves. We won’t get help from any of them.
Discuss politics in Hungary now and a blank stare
followed by vomitting is the reaction.
