Err, Clinton didn’t exactly work off the debt rather by the end of his term revenue coming in was greater than what congress was spending, the US still had generations of debt to work off. Much of this increased revenue evaporated by the internet bubble bursting soon after leaving office and the first recession of the decade. Actually, I’m not so sure Orban would be pleased with the comparison to Clinton, as for years he has tried to pass himself off as the Hungarian version of a Republican. All one has to do is look at the organizations he and/or his people meet with when they visit Washington, DC.
