Fodor-Kóka duel killed liberals, Horn says in TV interview

The Free Democrats made a lot of mistakes over recent years, for which voters punished the party, senior party official Gábor Horn told ATV television station Sunday night. “There is no more Alliance of Free Democrats, only two or three caucus members buying themselves seats in other parties,” he added.

He commented that the real collapse of the liberal party came with the Kóka-Fodor leadership battle after Gábor Kuncze quit the post.

Horn noted that most of the regime-changing parties have disappeared “practically everywhere across the ex-Soviet bloc. There is no more Smallholders Party, nor Christian Democratic People’s Party. Now there is no Alliance of Free Democrats,” he said.
