Hungarians' inclination to vote twice stronger on right than left

The inclination of right-wing supporters to vote at the upcoming parliamentary elections is twice as strong as that of left-wing supporters, a February poll Tarki published on Thursday shows.

Among those who said they would certainly cast their votes, left-wing supporters represented only 15 percent as compared with right-wing supporters representing 36 percent. Among all voters, right-wing supporters represented 28 percent and left-wing supporters accounted for 15 percent, the poll said.

The number of right-wing supporters is higher than average among men, within the group of those aged between 18 and 29, among residents of rural areas and members of large households with at least 5 members, Tarki said.

There are more than average left-wing supporters among small households with one or two members, pensioners and Budapest residents, said the poll.

The parliamentary elections will take place on April 11 and April 25.

Another intersting factoid:

"The number of right-wing supporters is higher than average ... among residents of rural areas ..."

Wonder what spongebob would make out of this ?

Maybe there is a connection with the educational level ?

Or is it the level of pálinká ?

It is not enough for a German Jew to get an h-wife to understand the workings of Hungarian politics. It is even harder to understand the situation for those who are driven by raw HATE of everything pro-Hungarian.
The lead post does not help understanding things because it uses old and tired Communist descriptions for patriotic (right-wing) and un-patriotic (left-wing) supporters.
Patriotic supporters are more inclined to vote because they are hoping to elect a government that will serve the best interests of Hungary and that will result in better lives for them and their children. They are driven by the love of their country first and personal interests second. Some of these will vote for Fidesz while others will vote for Jobbik. It is unlikely that a significant number of patriotic Hungarians would vote for MSZP. There is no use talking about the clowns of MDF/SZDSZ joke as they are cooked. Stick a fork in them.
The un-patriotic voters put the present Communist MSZP/SZDSZ coalition in power. They do not care about country, principles or anything other than what they van get from those in power. A large percentage of these are old, very old Communists of Rakosi and Kadar era and their numbers are dwindling. Those still kicking are not as motivated as they used to be because the Communists did not give what they promised them and took away some of their perks. Gyurcsany’s őszödi beszéd told them that he lied to them and forget about the promised goodies. Most of these people, who care about nothing but their own welfare are for Fidesz now. They are hoping that Orbán will give them what Gyurcsany promised but failed to deliver.
The famous 2/3 for Fidesz was supposed to come from hard-core Fidesz supporters and these disappointed MSZP supporters. Everything looked rosy for Orbán until Jobbik became a real power, Jobbik az új erő. Nobody expected it, not the MSZP, not Fidesz. If they had any smarts, they would have prepared for it after Jobbik humiliated and buried SZDSZ in the EP election.
The MSZP reaction to Jobbik was expected. Jobbik supporters had to take some delight and satisfaction seeing the HATE distorted face of Lendvai when the EP election results came in. It was a sight some will long cherish.
The Fidesz reaction was also expected but not the ugly reaction and the smear campaign Fidesz launched against Jobbik. One has to ask if they are really that stupid. Did they not see what happened to SZDSZ after their EP smear campaign against Jobbik? Stupid, very stupid.
Some on the Fidesz and MSZP side (Is time to talk about a Fidesz/MSZP coalition yet?) console themselves by claiming that Jobbik will go away as Fidesz and some other smaller parties did. Methinks, they are wrong about that also. Fidesz supporters, patriotic Fidesz supporters will continue to leave Fidesz for Jobbik. Fidesz also has another problem. Some of the disappointed MSZP voters, the give me something for nothing losers, will find out that Fidesz has nothing Fidesz can give them either. Where they will go in 2014 is anyone’s guess. Jobbik is not a party of give you something for nothing promises. They have a program and the only thing the promise that they will put Hungary first. It worked for some of the American politicians who said “America first” and promptly handed America to the Israel lobby. No chance of Jobbik lying about their commitment for Hungary first.

"Patriotic supporters are more inclined to vote because they are hoping to elect a government that will serve the best interests of Hungary"
Yes- but who ..Fidesz? Maybe Jobbik?
I have strong reservations about Fidesz being able to change anything. At least if Jobbik can drum up enough support they might be able to twist Orban's arm in bringing in the reforms Hungary so badly needs. Get rid of the commie MSZP at least.
As for retired foreign nationals seeking to influence the voters..Wolfi, Viking, Olga, etc.
Who cares. Germany, Sweden, and Canada, need them more than we do?

Care to describe those reforms?
Given the fact that hard-core support for MSZP is calculated to around 700.000 voters in Hungary (like 40% more than what Jobbik got in the EP election)
Most of these people are probably either retired or close to be, so what kind of 'reform' that only Jobbik can propose would remove, either these persons, or their political opinion?

Thanks Virgil and agree 100%. Only Bob could have said it better.
Ignore the village idiot. He is here for our entertainment, not as a "vita partner".

@ Virgil

Interesting comment. "As for retired foreign nationals seeking to influence the voters..Wolfi, Viking, Olga, etc."

Retired from what? Is there a pension I should be claiming that I am not aware of? Please respond asap and let me know if forms are on line.

About being "foreign" and in Canada - no denying, that's me

Gee, how come Bob, Tom/BJ and justasking are
excluded? Could it possibly be they support JOBBIK? .

What does it take for you to comprehend there is NO possibility to influence voters on this website - I think "one of your own" emphasized that but no one seems to get it in your group.

Less name calling and more asking yourself why you keep pissing in the wind might help.

For example:

Question: Why do Jean Marie Le Pen's faithful supporters not contribute to this website ?

Answer: Lack of French voters reading this website.

Get it now? - I love you and your friends using the term "Village Idiots"
