Reports have surfaced from Népszabadság that the Socialists are looking at the possibility of dropping Csaba Horváth as their Budapest mayoral candidate in place of a non-party individual other parties might also get behind. This likely has little to do with Horváth’s free BKV pledge that largely backfired and more to do with Socialists being unelectable, to the point that their own candidates hide their party affiliation. Whether or not the Socialists keep Horváth will be decided next month at a party congress.
