
In response to the government’s decree that their most glorious declaration be displayed in public buildings, the Budapest government put them on the fence outside city hall, accompanied by a mostly blank sheet of paper asking citizens to tell the government what they think of it.
On the sheets, you can see various comments criticizing Fidesz and Jobbik, with one even equating the two, something both parties would vehemently disagree with. What came across to me, however, was how many of the sheets featured messages directed at Budapest Mayor Gábor Demszky, to the point that if not a majority of them, they at least constituted a plurality, with people giving him a piece of their mind instead, while some just provided their opinion about politics in general, as the photo above reveals.
