As in Hungary, this year’s national elections in the Czech Republic resulted in some sore feelings over a lack of women in the cabinet. But unlike here, where women saw their already meager share of parliamentarians slashed by 20%, there are now more women in the Czech parliament than ever before. And some of them are pretty hot!
The background of the above picture features a candid shot of one such “Czechmate” – vice speaker of the chamber of deputies Kateřina Klasnová – from a calendar recently put out by the party she represents. (You can see more of the pinups here.) Adding a bit of spice to the sauce is the fact that Klasnová’s party is called (at least in English) “Public Affairs”. Get it? Public affairs!
Now back to Hungary, which is represented in the inset pic by Dóra Dúró, the youngest and probably most superficially drool-worthy member of the Magyar Országgyűlés.
So why do we think Dúró tops Klasnová and the other Czech political hotties who have made such and international splash over the last couple of weeks? Easy: Klasnová and her fellow pinups are from a nice centrist party, while Dúró is from the far-right Jobbik, whose members are often found sporting martial uniforms. And as the great American humorist P. J. O’Rourke once pointed out, no one has ever had a fantasy about being tied to a bed and sexually ravished by someone dressed as a liberal.

I don’t know, this ranks up there with the HétiVálaszt piece on ‘who is the most beautiful woman political analyst’ (ki a legszebb politológusnő). They have since had the decency to delete the article, probably on the grounds that it’s trivial crap (originally published on Oct 1st 2009 http://hetivalasz.hu/cikk/0910/ki_a_legszebb_politologusno with people at the ‘Perspective Institute’ crowing about one of their own getting second spot – sad bastards that they are).
Ok, so they have no decency, they just never put a link automatically forwarding it to its new home when they revamped their content management system and URLs. Here it is: http://hetivalasz.hu/jegyzet/ki-a-legszebb-magyar-politologusno-24614/
@Vándorló: While I usually find myself agreeing with
you, on this point I really must protest: This
hottie Czech MP thing is a huge international story,
and it’s crucial we set the record straight.
Meanwhile, there’s another important reason Dúró
comes out on top… in almost any conceivable case
in which someone fantasizes about having sex with
her (or actually does have sex with her) either it
would be deeply degrading to her, or deeply
degrading to the person doing the fantasizing. In
other words, a win-win!
@Erik: This all reminds me of the ‘liberal’ journalist Jani Allen case with far-right Eugène Terre’Blanche http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jani_Allan
@ all
Is this website a haven for MCPs as well?
These women are beautiful and Lendvai is not.
Should they not be judged solely on their political performance?
I’ve seen pictures of some pretty grubby and unkempt male politicians in Hungary and no one commented on their appearance.
I have seen some of the most beautiful women in the world in Budapest.
These slavic-looking Czechs do not appeal to me.
The commentators are fat, fifty something perverts,
with thick-rimmed glasses and vacant stares.
And, are the people that would normally date scarecrows like, Lendvai.
BTW. Ogler. This site is full of all sorts of nasties. (You being a prize example).
What did you put for occupation on your passport: “dumbbell?” Ding Dong…!!
Dóra Dúró gives an interview wearing a bikini. i am not kidding!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LsXhp3r0Y4&feature=player_embedded
@Paul – great catch! If anyone is keen, the action
starts at about 1:30. Nice cans!
@Erik: Yes, but still, ignoring the obvious, in termas of what she actually says she is factually wrong. That there is 20% unemployment in some sectors of the demographic is true (if you splice it by region, too), but that it is without comparison in Europe is plainly wrong. Do you think she has heard to Estonia (19.8%), Latvia (20%), or Lithuania (17.4%). And those are just the means. The mean for Hungary is around 10.4%.
Here’s something that is actually to do with politics and women. Did you not follow the farce of Lendvai Ildikó denouncing Fidesz’s media bill: http://torokgaborelemez.blog.hu/2010/07/21/215_cenzor_volt_e_lendvai_ildiko
@Vándorló: Sorry, but when I watch a video of a girl
bursting out of her bikini top while talking about
unemployment statistics, I tend not to focus on
whether her data is sound. But good catch. Also,
yeah, more later on media bill.
