Hungary’s ruling centre-right Fidesz and the Christian Democrats (KDNP) have maintained their massive public support, which helped the party alliance to a two-thirds majority in the April general election, according to a poll the Szazadveg Foundation released to MTI on Monday.
Both among all respondents and in the group of decided voters four times as many stated support for Fidesz-KDNP than for the main opposition Socialists.
Among decided voters, 64 percent would vote for the ruling parties, 16 percent for the Socialists, 10 percent for radical nationalist Jobbik, and 8 percent for green LMP, if elections were held again this weekend, the poll said.
The poll was made between July 19 and 23, on a representative sample of 1,000 adults.
