Leading opposition party MSZP has called on the government not to make it more difficult for Hungary to join the euro zone by declaring in the new constitution that the country’s official currency is the forint.
Imre Szekeres, economic policy leader of the MSZP, pointed out that according to repeated statements, joining the euro zone was in Hungary’s economic and political interest, so the government should not hinder the case by modifying the constitution is such a way. [hvg.hu]

hungary is lucky that it still controls its own currency, and should never give up that basic tenant of a sovereign state.
What soveriegn state? Fidesz and Socialists sold out the country to the EU.. with the signing of the Lisbon treaty.
Also the Banks prefer the currency to remain the same so they can profit from our currency. They use Hungary as their little bitch for the west.
