Former Socialist minister questioned as suspect on alleged graft

The Central Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday questioned former Socialist Defence Minister Ferenc Juhasz, who is suspected of graft involving the sale of a ministry-owned flat.

The prosecutor launched an investigation at the initiative of government commissioner Gyula Budai a year ago, into Juhasz’s allocation and sale of a ministry-owned apartment to a state secretary in 2005-2006 in an allegedly irregular way.

According to the prosecutor’s statement, the flat, purchased at 65 million forints shortly before the minister allocated it to former state secretary Laszlo Fapal, was then sold at a discounted 22.2 million, causing the ministry damages of over 43 million forints (EUR 148,000).

Juhasz denied the charges and refused to make a testimony.

At a hearing on February 7, Fapal also claimed he had not violated any effective regulations when he had bought his service apartment.

This government is rather quiet on the Grippen deal. What about the oil scandal?

funny thing, that the haters like MagyarViking is not commenting this…

I’ve seen his comments in swedish papers. The man was actually presented proof that people been shot in october 2006, and still he denied it, even though everybody seeing the link could tell he was lieing… (morning, midday, evening) Just this much of his credibility…

Why not present these “proof” here?

Here in Hungary we have seen no proof on people being shot
What we have been seeing is people being hit by tear-gas canisters and rubber-bullets, but not being shot by live ammo, which was the discussion in Sweden

And that “proof” did not show that, so please, one more time, just show that, we are all eyes and ears for all new “proof”
