Far-right radical arrested on suspicion of damaging Jewish, Soviet memorials

Police have arrested Béla Incze, a leader of the far-right 64 Counties Movement on suspicion of vandalising the Holocaust memorial on the Danube embankment in the 13th District last Thursday night.

Anti-Semitic captions were painted on the monument reading “This is not your country, dirty Jews,” and “You will be shot there” with an arrow pointing to the nearby river.

Police also suspect Incze of vandalising the Jewish memorial on Pozsonyi út also in the 13th District and the Soviet memorial on Szabadság tér in the Fifth District in recent days.

Jobbik MP Gyula György Zagyva told a demonstration of sympathy attended by several dozen people outside the Markó utca prison in the Fifth District Sunday evening that “the desecration of the Jewish memorial on the Danube embankment or anywhere else can easily be described as trivial”.

    Free Bela Incze – political prisoner of Fedesz government.

    It is funny that when Jobbik Billboards and offices got defaced last election, when Horthy statues are splashed with red-paint – no one gets arrested.

    How much longer can people tolerate the Communist terror and the tiny cabal of criminals (not all Jewish) who desecrate everything and never get caught? The same people who lie about the situation of Roma in Hungary to the rest of the world, the same people who took 800,000 Hungarians from their homes and sent them to death camps in Siberia before 1956.. The same people implicated in the stealing of wealth and crimes against Hungarians after Communism faded away. The same people organizing to take land and rights away from Hungary – to make Hungarians second class citizens and nationless – subject to a cruel bureaucracy in another nations capital – Brussels.

      Then beat Fidesz in the next election. Leave the EU. Deport all the Gypsies. Deport all foreigners. Deport all the J*ws. Ban immigration. Secure your borders. Dump all statues of J*ws, Foreigners and Commies in the Duna. Declare Budapest the capital of the universe. Next impose your 3 generation plan by banning abortion and imposing a civic duty on your women to spawn a minimum of a dozen kids to serve in the Army of Arpad to reclaim all post Trianon territories lost on 4 June 1920 (even though that was a kingdom and not a nation but why diddle with small details). Then lock down the new glorious borders so Hungary can live in perpetual bliss; free, pure, incubated and forever Hungarian. Oh yeah… and ban tourism. Sound good?

      • Freedom

        Aloof you clueless. You think that because of my views that I want to ban tourism, close the borders, deport all Gypsies back to India, and forcefully restore lost lands.

        No!

        People like you, the very narrow-minded liberal who hears something being said and then thinks the worst in their narrow brain. I am against immigration or any kind of colonization, however a small amounts is acceptable, but I fully support friendship of peoples and nations, and nothing is wrong with tourism.

        When you think narrowly as you do it makes you see the worst solutions and not the best.

        • Aloof

          Then what do you want? Where in the hell is the communist terror at today unless you’re talking about China? The Commies who sent 600,000 Hungarians to Russia? Horthy, Gombos, Teleki and Bardossy were just as responsible for that happening pal. They made their choices and Hungary paid for it and still is big time.

          The police did nothing when Jobbik desecrated the Karolyi statue on 16 NOV 2010. Karolyi was a disaster but so was Horthy in the end. So you’re blaming all the BS in Hungary on Commies? Fidesz has Commies all over the place in their ranks. Post Commie supranationalist EU loving corrupt scum lying about Roma and stealing wealth? Fidesz is making Gyurcsany and crew look like amateurs!

          And what does Jobbik offer? Racism, anti-semitism, fascism and violence. Your kind of anti colony means anti EU and anti foreigner. I’ve been directly a recipient of that attitude here. Immigration? Then you better start having some kids there bud.

          Me a liberal? Shows you don’t know a damn thing about me. I have magyar blood too and I’ve lost American relatives and Magyar relatives to WWI, WWII and to the Soviet Union and ’56 too pal. And for what? Because of nationalism, hatred and fear of Russia going back to 1848 so it just wasn’t the commies either.

          Every friggin’ regime in Hungary since ’89 are low life corrupt thieves pillaging Hungary like they’re entitled to just because they won an election? Open your friggin’ eyes man. Hungarians get shoveled ideological shit while the newest and latest oligarchs are robbing and making fools of you.

          I’m a guy with his eyes wide open unlike all the childish tit for tat ideological drivel going on here today. Statue wars? Grave robbing? To the rest of the world you look like blind immature unsophisticated bickering perpetually in denial fools and suckers.

            @Aloof,

            You seem really emotional lately…do you need a moment to collect yourself?

            PS: If you were a woman, I’d be asking you if…. :D

  • Géza

    @Aloof!

    It is sad you don’t understand what Freedom wrote… the question is, why didn’t the police arrest “the lawyer” after he splashed the Horthy statues with red-paint?

    Next to this, they violated his most basic human rights, the right of access to a lawyer as he was prevented to get in touch with his attorney during his arrest procedure.

    • Aloof

      I don’t know. Why don’t you ask the police about both? Smells and I’ll bet there’s a lot more to this than meets the eye. Freedom went on and on past the subject of the article so I took him where he wanted to go anyway. That’s the ultimate goal of Jobbik isn’t it?

  • Géza

    they violated his most basic human rights talking about Béla Incze ofcourse…

    • Vidra

      I fail to see any “violation of human rights” either, and just because the authorities haven’t arrested this publicity-whore lawyer who defaced Horthy’s statue doesn’t legitamise what Incze did. If you want to live in Europe, balance your right to free speech with others’ right not to be offended by vandalised monuments covered with racist graffiti, or get in your Suzuki Bunkowagen and haul yourself off to Kazakhstan.

      • justasking,

        @Vidra,

        ‘or get in your Suzuki Bunkowagen and haul yourself off to Kazakhstan’

        You’ve offended me, please apologize….Kazakhstan is a lovely country.

        • Vidra

          Kazakhstan is indeed a beautiful country (and petrol is about EUR 0,5/HUF 150 a litre), but they have a more robust approach to opposition. The authorities didn’t fine the protesting oil workers there, just shot at them (with several fatalities). Freedom of speech meets freedom to use deadly force.

          • Leto

            Kazakhstan is actually a real democracy … in Central Asian terms. (Tell me which country in that region you think is better off in this regard.)

          • justasking,

            @Vidra,

            ‘The authorities didn’t fine the protesting oil workers there, just shot at them ‘

            :D I wouldn’t might that approach sometimes.

  • Géza

    the “violation of human rights” is that Incze didn’t get access to a laywer till now!!

    And if he is guilty or not is not proven yet, that ‘laywer” who defaced the Horthy statue has proven he is guilty himself on youtube.

  • Freedom

    What fabricated proof will they come up with this time. Most likely their taking orders from pressure groups. The government has a history of negative bias against nationalist, be that false arrest with no evidence/or trial (Budahazy), withholding a right to a lawyer, banning of civil nationalist organizations, putting pressure on the media to not discuss issues or they’ll face fines (and now jail time), etc, etc.

    The government be that Communist, Socialist, or Fidesz all have one common goal it seems – to violate the rights of Hungarians who defend their rights as a people.

    re: I fail to see any “violation of human rights” either, and just because the authorities haven’t arrested this publicity-whore lawyer who defaced Horthy’s statue doesn’t legitamise what Incze did.\n
    I love the way you put it – I agree with you 100%

    It’s only fair that both parties be charged but charged, but one person would have a lot more serious charges against him than the other for obvious reasons – the nut case lawyer must be JOBBIK’s new best friend\n

    @ Freedom from sanity: re: \Free Bela Incze – political prisoner of Fedesz (sic) government.\

    Another JOBBIK hero like the convicted Budahazy? No shortage of worthy heroes for JOBBIK but if you have room for one more , add Peter Daniel

    Yesterday was Memorial Day in my country and I visited some of my relatives buried here in Hungary. Some of the reasons they died is what ticks me off.
    I’ve never encountered such hypocrisy in my life as I find on this site. I’m actually beginning to wonder if the ignorant masses know when they’re getting fucked or actually just like it. I don’t ever need anything from you.

  • Saif

    Freedom is not God gifted, we have to fight for it everyday. And here they violated his most basic human rights talking about Béla Incze, this is wholly shit. Now, for your help I think this video goo.gl/BYMCd will really make you feel grateful!
