Quotable: Viktor Orbán on economics and democracy

“It doesn’t matter what we want, only what people want. I know it’s hard to understand sitting in the successor party of a dictatorship.”

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, replying to a Socialist MP's asking whether rising inflation, falling real wages and recession are what he was aiming at when he was drafting the government's economic policy. [index.hu]

So Orban thinks the people want rising inflation, falling real wages and recession?

Quick! Someone tell him that people *don’t* want this!

  • Feher Gyorgy

I don’t mind to have inflation, falling wages and recession, as long as it’s part of Orban’s master plan.
Actually it’s a good thing because what does not kill us, will make the Hungarian Dream even stronger than before.

Interesting how those who used to come flocking to defend Szent Viktor on this site don’t seem to speedy to do so now. But then His Oiliness regards his critics as traitors to their race (Homo sapiens) and his supporters as a bunch of flockers.

Quick, quick! What is that Szent Viktor should be defended about in this topic?

Vitam et sanguinem pro rex Sancta Victor! :)

This weekend I was at Heroes Square, and there were Russian flags all-over. A clear statement that we don’t need the communist EU.
From now on let’s turn to the East and do business with Moskou and China. That’s where the cash is anyhow!

That was because of Bruce Willis’ film. :D

Hungary will stay focused on Western Europe (partly because of economic reasons but also for political and cultural ones). But that focus will be a lot wider than it used to be and we’ll try to be a bridge for Russia and China into Western Europe.

Damn, I have passed twice in front of Heroes Square this weekend to go to the Belga Sörök Festival (best beer in the world!) but the cab drivers just told us that the road was blocked due to a demonstration.
I am a big fan of John McClane, so now I regret that I did not see the action.

Well, in this case I’ll send you a straight razor with express delivery, would hate to see that you can’t keep your promises in due time… ;-)
