Political scientist Ferenc Kumin is expected to be appointed deputy state secretary in charge of foreign communications at the Prime Minister’s Office, Heti Valasz weekly said on its website on Thursday.
Kumin will be taking over the tasks so far undertaken by Zoltan Kovacs, state secretary in charge of government communications at the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
This means that all governmental communications tasks will be drawn under the authority of a single unit at the Prime Minister’s Office, which also employs government spokesman Andras Giro-Szasz, the paper said.
Kumin, who confirmed to Heti Valasz that he had been asked to take up the post, worked as a political analyst for think-tank Szazadveg in 2006-2010 as well as heading the strategic and communications department at President Laszlo Solyom’s office, the website said.
