Chief Public Prosecutor Peter Polt vowed his office would do its best to bring offenders with anti-Semitic motivations to justice at talks with leaders of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Hungary (Mazsihisz) on Tuesday.
They agreed that the prosecutor’s office and Mazsihisz would tighten cooperation in sharing information on crimes motivated by anti-Semitism, Peter Feldmajer, the president of Mazsihisz, told MTI in a statement.
He said these types of crimes had been on the rise in the country and investigating them required specific techniques that allow exploring the motivation behind them.
Peter Polt reassured Feldmajer that the prosecutor’s office together with other authorities of investigation would continue to take firm action against any unlawful act.
