The entrance to a building currently used as the local synagogue in Bekescsaba, SE Hungary, was found daubed with yellow paint early on Wednesday.
Mazsihisz, the federation of Hungarian Jewish communities reported the case to MTI, adding that the police had also been alerted.
Bekescsaba’s Jewish community is making preparations for a commemoration of Holocaust victims on Sunday, to be attended by Israeli Ambassador to Hungary Ilan Mor.
Hungary has witnessed several similar cases of anti-Semitic vandalism over the past few months.
