Transparency International offers gov’t help to fight graft

Transparency International said on Thursday it stands ready to help Hungary’s justice and public administration ministry combat corruption, arguing that a there is a risk of graft every time private businessmen continued their careers in public administration, or vice versa.

The anti-corruption organization’s statement said it was natural for people to move between the two sectors but there were risks to be expected when they did. TI noted the example of a regulator coming from the private sector, who is then given responsibility of changing rules which may be to the advantage of his former company.
