Ethnicity of suspect in infamous murder of police psychologist on agenda

In the wake of the murder of a young woman by a Roma man, the internet is swarming with comments urging the reintroduction of the death penalty and with racist comments. A right-wing commentator believes “the Gypsies” should find a solution. Liberal commentators condemn what they see as racist reactions to the tragedy.

    Interesting – so you think that the addition of Hungarian to the background of a normal Roma makes them worse? Doesn’t make the Hungarians look very good!

      @Erik: I have met gyp$ies/r0ma/travelers all over the world; some lived in even worse conditions than in Hungary but I have never seen such a lack of “joie de vivre” as in Hungary. I notice a combination of rage and depression (anger turned inward), frustration, despair, … The whole situation is an accident waiting to happen.

      @Erik – this is the typical attitude of Hungarians who want to blame problems on everyone but themselves. They think they are particularly persecuted, not only by those outside Hungary, but by non-magyar citizens of Hungary.

      His ethnicity is important because its gypsies who commit these crimes.
      You never hear of ethnic Hungarians committing crimes such as this one against other ethnic Hungarians.

      Even when I saw the headline of the news report I knew it was a gypsy.

    There have been many murders over many years throughout Hungary – whether Roma killing Roma, Roma killing non-Roma, non-Roma killing Roma, non-Roma killing non-Roma, etc.

    What’s unfortunate about this case is all the attention it is getting simply because she was “one of their own” (in other words, she was on the police force). Somehow it seems that she was more important than all of the other victims over past years. Yes, it’s terrible what happened but the attention that this particular case is getting is pathetic!

    And, yes, leave ethnicity out of the equation.
