Interior Minister dismisses investigation bureau chief

Hungary’s Interior Minister Sandor Pinter has dismissed Zoltan Csizner, the head of the National Investigation Bureau (NNI), as of Wednesday, the ministry told MTI.

He will be replaced by Gabor Bucsek from Thursday, the ministry said in a statement.

The statement said the move was part of restructuring at the police force, but no further explanation was given. Csizner has been coordinating tasks related to the establishment of a new crime unit at the NNI, which he will continue to work on as a member of the standby force of the National Police Headquarters, the statement said.
