Former New York governor George Pataki to apply for Hungarian citizenship

George Pataki, former US governor of New York state, plans to take up Hungarian citizenship and vote in the 2014 general elections, news portal atv.hu said on Wednesday.

The politician, who also has Italian and Irish roots, has always regarded his Hungarian origins as paramount, atv.hu said. The former governor still has strong ties with Hungary and he wants to encourage young Hungarian-Americans to identify more with their heritage, learn more about Hungary, and become ambassadors of Hungarian culture in the US, the website said.

George Pataki’s grandfather, Janos Pataki, immigrated to America in 1908.

Pataki, 67, was the Republican governor of the State of New York for 12 years from 1995 and was tipped to run for US president on several occasions.

Will Fidesz raise a statue of Pataki at the same time as they give him his new Passport?

And the unveiling ceremony will be in the Új Színház?

Oohh, wait, how will that work with Pataki’s well known anti-Semitis stands?

“We’ve got to raise our voices not just to fight anti-Semitism here in New York or in America, but to continue to urge countries that would like to look the other way and pretend [it] doesn’t exist that it is their job as well to be aggressive in understanding and preventing anti-Semitism.”

Cannot “Jobbik” send a ticket for Pataki for the opening of the “Sixth Coffin”, István Csurka’s new play?

Maybe ‘leto’ could join Pataki and explain the ‘cultural values’ of Csurka’s work?

Stupid comment Viking. Put a sock in it.

      • Viking

        Why?

How do you think Pataki will react on a news conference, when he is asked why he want to be citizen in a country which is run by a party who fights for setting up anti-Semitic plays on public funded theatres?

By a writer who believes the J*ws were behind 9/11?

If you have forgotten 9/11 happened in New York, to which Pataki has some connection to…

But it will be interesting to hear ‘leto’ convincing Pataki on the ‘higher cultural values’ of Csurka’s writing…

Really? Tell that to Gábor Barcsa-Turner. Barcsa-Turner is deputy chairman of Hatvannégy Vármegye Ifjúsági Mozgalom (HVIM/Jobbik). Following letter is what he sent to the Canadian Hungarian Democratic Charter. He should be arrested for just being outright stupid and borderline insane:

“Never come back here! You are right: the neo-Nazis and fascists will hang you here for your disgusting articles. Here we are the masters, here we rampage and hate. We are racists and behave as anti-Semites, we hate everybody, but most of all, we hate you!
Please tell your comrades still in Hungary that life became unlivable because of the burgeoning nazism and invite Péter Dániel and Gyurcsány and all the other lice to leave the country. Forget our language; after all, only fascists and “deep-Magyars” speak it! Don’t use the adjective “Hungarian,” because that is the synonym of Hungarist, Arrow Cross, ultra-right riff-raff who are busily building the Fourth Reich. Don’t call yourselves Hungarians because everybody will think you are fascists.
Don’t use the adjective “Hungarian,” because that is the synonym of Hungarist, Arrow Cross, ultra-right riff-raff who are busily building the Fourth Reich. Don’t call yourselves Hungarians because everybody will think you are fascists.
You can be Canadians, Americans, and Europeans, whatever you want, but nothing should cross your lips connected to Hungarians.
And yes: I am an anti-Semite, if you call antisemitism telling the truth. I am a fascist if you criticize my law and order stance. I am a Nazi because I don’t share the official dogma about the Second World War. I am a Hungarist when you besmirch Hungary’s heroic stand in the Second World War. I yearn for the White Terror every time that you praise Endre Ságvári! My ideal becomes Gyula Ostenburg-Morawek and his detachment, and I would be glad to be the murderer of Somogyi and Bacsó, a pair of scribblers!
I am a racist when you defend the Gypsies and turn your eyes away from the terrorized weak and elderly. I am always the one whom you vilify: an anti-Semite, a racist, a fascist, Hungarist, a member of a detachment and I could go on. I belong to the extreme right without any tolerance toward the left.
I’m the one you have to deal with. And believe me, there are a lot of us here. Don’t ever come back! Stay abroad and die homeless, or while extolling the state of Israel, but let no more words about anything Hungarian pass your lips.”

Gábor T. Barcsa is arrested…..noooooo….thought so.

    • Viking

“I would be glad to be the murderer of Somogyi and Bacsó, a pair of scribblers!”

If the letter is true, then that should be ‘incitement to crime (murder)’, if “Somogyi and Bacsó, a pair of scribblers” can be identified

      Otherwise the sentence
      * “I belong to the extreme right without any tolerance toward the left”
could be written by ‘leto’ if you leave out the word “extreme”, then ‘leto’ claim to belong to ‘normal Hungarian right’

      • Pete H.

Béla Somogyi and Béla Bacsó were murdered on February 17, 1920. The victims were editors of Népszava, the official newspaper of the Hungarian Social Democratic Party.

Although the first paragraph is an incitement to crime towards the members of the Canadian Hungarian Democratic Charter. He first states that the neo-Nazis and fascists will hang you. And then he identifies himself as one of them “we are the masters”.

Barcsa is a leader of the HVIM, an extremist hate group. I’ve seen these loons in action in Budapest. I have no doubt that are full of hate and are sympathetic to the Nazi’s.

Former Governor Pataki is a very nice man, well schooled and knows where he is going! He is proud of his ancestry, visited Hungary a few times and liked whar he saw! He was a very good governor – too bad he did not have any presidential aspirations. Becoming a Hungarian citizen is the next best thing, eh what? VIVA HUNGARY!

    • Aloof

Relax man. This is probably just one of the items on his “bucket list.”

    • Jules

What the hell for? It is ridiculous. He was born in the greatest nation on God’s green Earth. Passport collectors are silly people, imho. Will he pay taxes in Hungary as a result? I think not.

  • DoubleH63

How nice that all the Judeo-Bolsheviks are commenting on a letter, which they know nothing about again as usual – just because Red Eva babbled about it on her Communist blog.
[Well, with the exception of Ilja the red propagandist from the nation of the human trafficker – he does not even know who those two scribblers were (the ‘half-breed’ children didn’t help you out on this one, eh?)]

Anyhow, Viking the letter is very true.

Maybe you guys and this new gal of a ‘great Hungarian’ [but more likely just another J*w commie cunt – merely wanted to welcome you on this site appropriately] should get the help of olga with her Gypsy crystal ball or maybe General Monkey (very famous military intelligence agent with big balls, to find out all the details about this letter.

I do not know if Red Eva purposely omitted the details about the letter – as a good commie propagandist – or if her ‘democratic mind’ just froze up from fear and didn’t bother.

    • Viking

So, are you happy that Pataki will share two citizenships with you now?

I can only speak for myself, but I read that letter and I thought it was the hate filled ramblings of a lunatic who wanted to make Hungarians look bad, so I did ask my crystal ball for the true interpretation but all it said was ” don’t waste my time with garbage”

Knowing that I fit your description of “someone who knows nothing as usual” I am crossing my fingers that you will be kind enought to explain the true meaning of the letter because I suspect it’s all about Christian love towards our fellow men and it simply went over my head.

I don’t mean to be critical, but it’s not very nice of you to let people think of the writer as a deranged fool when you could so easily set the record straight and allow others to be as informed as you are, not to mention become as supportive and proud of him as you must be.

          Men do clean.

However, it seems that Rev. Billy Munday was going for the classic “Get back in the Kitchen, woman” or “Go clean the house, woman” stereotype, which doesnt normally apply to men.

re: \I guess you missed my post a few hours ago to olga, also the one – I am guessing – a couple of weeks ago about this quote and the dangers of to much coffee.\

I missed the posting about too much coffee but I think there is a grain of truth in that so I disconnected my IV from the coffee machine.

About Pataki – I took the article at face value and believe that he \has always regarded his Hungarian origins as paramount and The former governor still has strong ties with Hungary and he wants to encourage young Hungarian-Americans to identify more with their heritage, learn more about Hungary, and become ambassadors of Hungarian culture in the US\

I am not sure if he ever supported the MSZP or supports FIDESZ (no doubt where he stands on JOBBIK) but I think that a feeling of strong ties to your heritage and a love for your country is apolitical and has nothing to do with
the party in power. While no one has to remind me how Gyurcsany betrayed his own people, his actions had no impact on how I felt about Hungary. I know JOBBIK will never come to power but God forbid it did, I would be as sad as I was when I heard about the red sludge disaster but it would still have no impact on my feelings for the country or its people.

    • Gyuszi

      Olga,
Your blind hatred of Jobbik is based solely on the liberal propaganda, the only “information” you have access to. That’s ignorance, the root of all hatred, which puts you on the same level as other haters.
Many Jobbik representatives are far more intelligent than the average career politician taking up space in the Parliament. Obviously you never had a chance to observe a single session of the House. I watch those regularly.
I would vote for Volner János for example, even if I don’t agree with Jobbik on several issues. That’s why it would be a great improvement to simply get rid of the party system. People like Volner and others who seem to care about the country were not forced to join parties, they could be elected on their own merits, without having to settle with “party lines”. Parties usually hold back the talented and promote the worthless.
We’re looking at another meaningless party election, and things keep getting worse. Not only here, look at what Americans may end up after a multi-billion dollar election circus: Obama or Romney. A useless golf player or a paid warmonger. Neither of them will help solving real problems. Ron Paul never had a chance.
Anyway, back to your obsession with Jobbik, imagine what would happen if all parties would disappear. You’d have to hate individuals instead of groups. That’s a bit more difficult, you’d have to actually pay attention to facts.

      • Anonymous

        Gyuszi

There might be a bunch of Nobel prize laureates representing Jobbik and a bunch of morons representing the other parties. That would still not change the fact that Jobbik’s ideology is a fascist one. Inteligence and character and morality do not allways go hand in hand.

Besides there are plenty or Jobbik members and symathisers who clearly are rather proned to stupidity and narrow-mindness than to anything else.

        My two pengo…

        • Anon

Definition: Fascists seek elevation of their nation based on commitment to an organic national community where its individuals are united together as one people in national identity. They are united by suprapersonal connections of ancestry and culture through a totalitarian state that seeks the mass mobilization of a nation through discipline, indoctrination, physical training, and eugenics. Fascism seeks to eradicate perceived foreign influences that are deemed to be causing degeneration of the nation or of not fitting into the national culture.

Bingo ! Jobbik fit this definition. They are fascists.

And would not “Monarchists” in the Hungarian context mean that you are anti-Horthy, then Horthy stopped the legal successor to the throne of Hungary to take up is post, effectively killing off the Kingdom
But the hell, it only lasted for 900 years, so who cares?

Again, you take words out of context, and misinterpret them.

Jobbik are not Fascists ,since their spiritual centre is not the power of the state, but rather the power of the Holy Crown.
