Quotable: Antal Rogán on the IMF’s “list of demands”

“I come from a village and when I was first riding the metro in Budapest, out of curiosity I peeped into the newspaper of an old man sitting next to me, but my aunt told me that was impolite, [and] I learned that [lesson] for life.”

Fidesz parliamentary group leader Antal Rogán answering to a question on Friday about whether he had asked Viktor Orbán about the contents of a document which the Prime Minister and other government members controversially claimed was a "list of demands" from the IMF and EU that Hungary would not accept in exchange for a new bailout. I wonder, what part of the question “whether he had asked Viktor Orbán about the contents of a document” remained hidden to Mr.Rogan, indicating a rather stupid answer.

Asking about a content of an allegedly official document is a light-year away from peeping into a privately owned newspaper, as just about anybody else – even a few FIDESZ party-member – would be able to explain to Mr.Rogan in case of doubt – so ask away, please, next time, will you?

If it is a true list of demands from the IMF/EU, then it is supposed to be accessible to all members of parliament. This is a bogus list and we all know it. What I would like to find out is how the IMF/EU feel about this lie? We will find out eventually, that I am sure of. OV is getting carried away with his lies, they will catch up to him.

What did your aunt tell you about stealing EU funds for the renovation of the 5th district? Did your aunt give you any advice on the confiscation of an entire nation’s pensions? Did she ever say anything like “And if Viktor told you to jump off a cliff, would you?”

Well THIS just takes the cake…

Hungary needs the International Monetary Fund because of problems elsewhere in Europe, not because of the country’s own situation, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in parliament on Monday. Mr Orban said the country needed precautionary financial assistance to protect it from the crisis in the eurozone. He stressed that “only a good agreement” with the IMF would be acceptable.

“Hungary does not need an ….agreement leading to austerity measures”, he said.

No OV’s policies ALREADY have Hungary under austerity measures and Hungary is in recession because of his utter failures via his “unorthodox” methods.
This guy is beyond desperate and is certifiably delusional now. Any Magyar buying this DRIVEL gets what they deserve.
BTW, Hungary will NOT get an IMF pre-cautionary loan and he KNOWS it damn well. Just more BS to get him to March 2013.

The markets aren’t going to respond for Hungary and no creditor or investor is going to touch Hungary with a 20 foot pole until an IMF loan is secured and it won’t be on OV’s terms it will be on theirs.
