Fidesz stabilizes strong lead

Fidesz has maintained its strong lead over opposition parties, notching up again 33 percent of support among all voters in Nezopont’s August poll.

The radical nationalist Jobbik party had 15 percent support, up two points. The Socialists were backed by 10 percent (up three points), while the Democratic Coalition (DK) stagnated at 5 percent and the E-PM party alliance at 3 percent, the poll said. Green party LMP lost two points to be supported by 4 percent.

Among decided voters declaring themselves certain to vote, Fidesz led by 42 percent against Jobbik’s 26 percent and the Socialists’ 11 percent. LMP had 9 percent and DK 8 percent in this group. E-PM followed with 4 percent.

The poll commissioned by the weekly Heti Valasz was taken from August 25 to 30 with a representative sample of 1,000 voting-age adults.
