Hungary has completed building an “Eastern-style regime” which has brought about “unpredictability and uncertainty” for its people, a representative of the Együtt party said. Assessing developments in the past six months, Zsuzsanna Szelényi said that the government was “wasting human resources and public funds” rather than serving its voters. She insisted that the current tax system benefited the wealthy, while the government was using public revenues to “upgrade the Paks nuclear plant, build sports stadiums, move government offices to Buda Castle, and host the Olympics” rather than improve health services, the education system, or spend money on research and development.
